Burberry

Just wondering if anyone knew. :flower:
Depends which collection :flower:

The Burberry , London , more classic collection , is made mostly in the UK , but some of the clothes are made in the USA , under licence , for the American and trans Atlantic market ( eg suits , coats etc. ) .
Burberry Prorsum , the high fashion , haut de gamme line , is made mostly in Italy .
Thomas Burberry USED to be made under licence in Spain , and still could be, although the firm , under Rose Marie Bravo bought back the licence for this younger diffusion line , which has recently been relaunched .

Thanks so much!!! I was just curious because some doofus on eBay claimed it was made in Japan... which I really, really doubted.

A Japanese firm COULD have a licence to make Burberry for that particular market , as Japanese sizes ARE smaller than European/USA sizes . Many brands DO manuacture under licence in Japan . The only way you could check is to ring Burberry in London !
As is the case with some Evisu jeans , here on this forum , there are lots of fake goods sold on E-BAY , unfortunately . ;)

I think they have the catwalk presentation in milan but it might be made in the UK too

When I was at school, we all wore Burberry, because there was a factory in the next town (Castelford, Yorkshire in the UK). I think its still there. :innocent:

There may well be...there's a factory-shop in Newcastle which has always led me to believe that there's probably a factory somewhere in Newcastle.

There is a website run by an American gentleman named Andy , where ALL the minutiae of bespoke clothing , shirts shoes , mostly for men , ( but it touches on womens clothing ) , etc , are discussed ad infinitum .
Inquiries such as where high-end clothing is actually manufactured is also discussed in great detail . B)

Very useful . :flower:

Burberry has a licensed line called Burberry Blue Label that's designed, made, and distributed exclusively in Japan. Really tacky, poor quality stuff ranging from handerchiefs to umbrellas that bear no resemblance whatsoever, and does no service, to the Prorsum collection designed by Chris Bailey. Unfortunately because of the low price points it's gaining popularity in the rest of the world through private importers.

It's stuff like this that keeps Burberry from really gaining respectability as a high-end label.

Good article on Chris Bailey for Burberry. I too have seen in the past on Ebay, blue label products, but i had always thought they looked a bit dodgy, fake nothing like Burberry and all were from Asia.

KIT- Do you have the link to that website? Sounds very interesting! B)
You'll have to do a Google search for :-

' Ask Andy about clothes '

AS you're not supposed to advertise other websites on TFS .

Happy searching ! ;)

Burberry Trench Coat collar question

Hello everyone!

I have what I think is a very simple question, but still baffles me.

I recently purchased a trench coat from Burberry London. And there's something iffy about the way the back of the collar is made.

Well, I'd like to explain more, but I think it's best I show pictures instead.

Shouldn't the rain shield (or whatever that is that makes the collar stand up) be in the middle instead of on the left edge? Is there anything I can do about it if I want to make the collar stand up?

This was purchased at a Burberry outlet store, it's an authentic piece.

Thanks everyone in advance.
