Céline S/S 2018 Paris

I´m tired of the oversized fit. There are looks that seem too much, like living in tents instead of wearing clothes.

Phoebe´s has lost his touch to me. I don´t see anything desirable here. Years ago her collections were amazing. It´s sad.

Very easy to wear, look 17 is really nice.

I see a strong influence of Demna here...Is anyone else seeing it?

Strong, powerful, feminine... and yet also, incredibly dull.

I was almost ready to ask if Lotta styled it. The insane layering is verging on Demna's side.

First of all, the dress on Binx is the best dress of the entire season. Everything is so right about that dress. It's love at the first sight!

As a collection, it's strong, confident and maybe a little bit more sensual. There are some great ideas and efforts on the cut. It kinda feel like a best of ideas she has developped recently.

I must admit that i'm also tired of seeing the oversized thing on the runway. While it looks fresh on the street, it is too much at this point.

This is in no way groundbreaking but i'm satisfied enough. A lot of great pieces and Phoebe is maybe one of the few left that still want to keep the idea of fashion alive.

The jackets and blazers are just a dream!

The first handful of pieces gives off a Juun J vibe.

Seems a little bit heavy for summer but overall i prefer this over last collection.

if you pull in the audience any tighter, they'll be on top of the models. it's difficult to see the clothes.

yeah, it's heavy for spring/summer and busy too. i love that olive green leather jacker with the drawstring though. but this collection as a whole isn't thrilling me.

That's exactly what I thought upon first view. Very Demna-esque is the tailoring (though, to be fair, Phoebe has a much sharper cut than Demna). I'm not head over heels over it, but it's quite nice - I love some of the ideas, like those dresses with the drooped leather waist, the flowy armholes (though I wish it was executed beter), the fringe...

strong, powerful, feminine.....and dull at the same time?

That was my entire point, I should be grabbed by this, but yet I'm not.

Thanks for the eyeroll though, very mature of you, especially since you haven't commented in one collection thread all season.

She should've stealed the runway layout of the eighties along with the clothing, nothing beats a wide, white, raised catwalk.

The Demna tailored vests with those awful grandma shirts were a disgrace, they looked so dusty and unfashionable in the worst way possible like something I could dig out of my overweight sixty-something aunt's closet. Those droopy skirts she and JW have been obsessing about are already a tired trope, a fitted skirt would be such a relief.

I feel like she was trying to do a very "Interiors" type collection, the coats are something the mother's character would wear and I get that decadent, cashmere clad side of the eighties in the colour palette. Cara Taylor in that plush coat is what the collection should have been about, more of that buttery leather, more gold, more burgundy less geriatric fashion, less fabric and less of whatever that pink dress in post 3 is all about. The printed silk dresses with those XXL belts and the pleated tunics with matching skirts were really nice but not incredibly exciting. I think she should have given in to glamour just for once, instead of giving us a peak and then leaving us craving it, that would have been unexpected.

ah. very interesting thought about interiors. did she cite that film as an influence? i can see what you mean, especially w.r.t. geraldine page's character...

I feel like we give Demna way more eclat then warranted. Because I personally don't see Demna influence that much, this seems like Phoebe in full effect. She's had such a swift in tone since F/W 2015.

Right now she's challenging too hard, stand alone there are several strong looks. But then there's those overly complicated looks like the over sized collar shirts under over sized vest (now those look like Demna) that just flat out dreadful.
