What did everyone think of tonight's episode? Even though the concept is a bit boring, and an obvious attempt to please their advertiser, I actually thought it was a good exercise. It was good that they got to see a real model do a shoot (Yasmine) and I thought that for a lot of these girls, doing a campaign is about selling a product and yourself so it was useful.

However, Nikita is lucky that her haircut accents her cheekbones because as a person, I despise her and I think/hope she's going to get a rude awakening when she enters the real modelling world. It annoys me to no end when people think they can justify being rude and horrible by saying they are 'honest'. There are diplomatic ways of being honest and saying things straight out that don't involve bringing down those around you. Coming out as a lesbian on national television takes balls, making the person you despise aware of your disdain doesn't.

Anyway, I felt bad for Rebeccah obviously regarding this and it's no wonder that she didn't want to confide in the other girls when they enable Nikita's bullying. I think living with the other girls probably didn't as much or more to aggravate her issues. That said, if she wants to be in modelling or acting she needs to learn how to cope with people like this. Overall, I liked the pictures and the styling of the shoot.

I agree with this paragraph 100%. Nikita needs to get her attitude in check.

The photos this week weren't as good as last week's, but I am glad Meaghan finally got a chance to step out of Heather's shadow.

I am a little upset about the preview for next week's episode though, because it seems like one of my favourites

I know! But I'm so happy where they are taking them. I think it must be visa/immigration/refugee issues. I read on ONTD that Maryam came from Iran - does anyone know this for sure?

Yep, Maryam immigrated to Canada from Iran two years ago. I really hope the preview is throwing us off.

One of my biggest pet peeves. Ironically, it's such a disingenuous claim -- the person is just masking their utter tactlessness.

I'm actually quite scared for Maryam next week. They're obviously going to New York, and from the looks of it they're photoshooting there. Hopefully they'll give her a second 2nd chance? I doubt she'll get eliminated since she's been very consistent thus far. I'm only hoping it's a "short term" trip (like the Bahamas) otherwise it's pretty much the end for her.

I absolutely Meaghan! Although her edit in tonight's show really threw me off. She kept talking about the whole Heather thing and I really did think she'd succumb to it. I was proven horribly wrong though!

I liked Rebeccah, but she really seemed too unstable to stay there (or that's how the show made it look anyway!).. it was probably for the best.

The moment Nikita starts talking, I can't imagine her being a model.. at all. She just reminds me of a bratty child.

It looked to me like there were go-sees involved next week by the preview. And they're going to New York so I wonder if they're doing go-sees in NYC? Ahh CNTM is so much better than ANTM on so many levels. I'm glad Meaghan finally came out on top this week, I prefer her to Heather.

If Maryam doesn't go, she will get eliminated. Too bad cause I really like her.
If she was a Canadian citizen, wouldn't she be able to travel to the US sans passport? If she goes their with a coach and presents I.D. at the border.

Nikita irritates me a lot but she has 0 chance of becoming a fashion model and I'm sure she'll bomb at NY goo-sees.

I'm so glad Meaghan finally shows that she can do better than Heather.I personally think she has more potential than Heather,her face is stunning.
I hope Linsay leaves next,she's the least modelesque girl there and her photos are quite mediocre,IMO.

I can't even remember who Linsay is,so i guess she doesn't really stand out.Very happy Meaghan kicked butt.She looked so beautiful and very current with that makeup and hair style.And i agree with everyone about Maryam.I love her.I just realsied who she reminds me of.Claudia Mason,90's model.

Maryam is not a Canadian citizen she is either a refugee or awaiting landed immigrant status. Regardless, to travel by air into the U.S. you need a passport. I'm guessing she doesn't travel on her Iranian passport, no longer has her Iranian passport, and/or is awaiting certain documents for a Canadian passport or travel document.

^^^ i was talking about travelling by car, i don't think you need a passport if you are a Canadian citizen.
But it does seems like she isn't one so too bad for her.

Travelling by car from Toronto to Manhattan would take over 8 hrs. (about 750 km), so that probably wasn't going to work with the schedule.

Before June 1st, Canadians only needed picture I.D. to cross the border (by car) but now you need a passport or an approved secure document. Obviously this was filmed before June 1st.

It's hard to tell from the preview ~~ hopefully just edited for the drama of it and she made the trip with everyone.

Picture ID has not been accepted since 9/11. You need to have a birth certificate and some other form of picture ID to cross. A drivers license generally isn't enough and you certainly don't want to leave it to the discretion of American border patrol, whom I have nothing against, but I have had the best and pretty bad experiences with.

^Yes that is right, thanks for correcting me........I did not elaborate and should have. We just always have birth certs with us (I forgot about that).....and it could have been any legal picture I.D. (not just a driver's license). But now if you do not have a passport you need the enhanced D.L. or I.D. card.


I agree with you about the American Patrol Border - the line ups, the stress. I have never had a real bad experience but I would much rather fly and go thru customs that way.

yeah, when I fly. the customs people are friendly and perfunctory. On the ground. It's another story. I was waiting once with my boyfriend at the border for over two hours (we had planned a quick jaunt over for lunch, but he has a British passport so we were held waiting) and a border patrol officer, without ever approaching me or speaking with me, started yelling at me to move my car forward and said "I know you can see me? Who else do you think I'm talking to?!" Um - the person behind me maybe? There were like 25 other people around. Anyway, they can be a nightmare. And i'm sure Canadians can be too if you don't have your papers in order and I"m guessing, with the speed of our bureaucracy, Maryam doesn't.
