Carmen Dell'Orefice

forget the supers shes probably the original super having worked with most of the great photographers of our time
Discovered on the bus in New York in 1941, Dell'Orefice went on to have an exclusive contract with Condé Nast and be photographed by legends including Irving Penn, Richard Avedon and Cecil Beaton as well as playing muse to artist Salvadore Dali and Donald Cammell
I would love to see her work from the 80s and earlier

she's been a favourite of mine ever since i was a kid and first saw her on tv. not only was she absolutely stunning and striking, she gave a damn good interview. i only wish we could get some of her pics from each decade. the ones i saw on tv years ago were all amazing.

btw, she can still model with the best of 'em, if you ask me.

Thanks MissMagAddict.......I'm now looking forward to getting that issue of Town & Country:D

I have an unhealthy obsession with silver hair (not only do I intend on going gray gracefully the moment it starts to show, but I have been tempted to dye it silver at, like, twenty) and her hair always looks so perfect to me :crush:

:woot: omg... it's the legendary Carmen! i'm so glad there's a thread on her!

She's known for her one name. if you mentioned the name, carmen, the industry knows who you're talking about. i've also mentioned her around here before. one thing about her i can never remember her last name

She's also known for her silver hair - that's her trade mark. i agree... she gets better with age. her cheek bones are just amazing.

she's like the Helen Gurley Brown of the modeling world. She's immortalized.
