from le choc du chic (2006 - probably a reprint) by Francesca Alfano Miglietti (not sure it was posted, including some like Ann Demele, Martin Margiela, McQueen, Rei, Walter and even some i didn't know ! they were pretty techno, like cyberpunk or something).

sorry the itw is in french, around 2000.
they talk about blood and skin and life, about natural, about colors, about time (and blood-color fading), artisanat (loved this part as much as the blood part), the "specific outfits" (they are no painting, no sculpture !) ........

my snaps.
:flower:

eta : he NEVER says "specific outfits". i did it as a joke. i think of "specific objects" when he says "they are no painting, they are no sculpture !"

he has always been the quintessential purveyor of extreme beauty. complex and non-conformist. yet somehow superbly organic in it all.

wish i could see those collections from 99-2001...i remember bits of them being covered but never anything full.

i forgot this image.

Does anyone know the difference in CCP trousers for Fe Male between style codes
PF0837 seicht/8 and PF0837 splinter/3. Is the fit the same and the fabric different or something else. Also has anyone seen these in person and tried them. Please any help will be appreciated.

rip ian curtis, I think what you saw is taped.

thanks Berlin for the snaps !

Scott, I'll post some later.

goldsmith, the codes say the same style, different fabrics, and different colors.

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare mens and fe-male sizing on the footwear.. I have special ordered size 5 in men's CCP they are a tiny bit big but I prefer it that way. How much narrower are the fe-male than the male ? Has anyone been lucky enough to see both side by side say a mens5 ot a women's 39?

a summer vacation post:
when I see these creatures I think of these designers somehow (tailoring and texture-wise)
even if it's just me.

omg...
i LOVE these comparisons...

so so good...
the first is all shiny and elegant and sexy like lang...
the second is all earthy and distressed like CCP
and the last is big and thick and almost chunky..raf...

runner...
you have an incredible way of looking at the world and saying so much with so few words or just an image...

thank you for your unique point of view...

goldsmith, I have never seen a mens 5. the smallest size stores around here would buy is a 6. but I think a womens 39 is a bit narrower than a mens 5.

he might be playing a man in the possession of his own desire to have the miracle of creation in hand.
but I see assiduousness and unyieldingness of a master of hand-made noodles.

those are brilliant runner, thank you posting those as well as the scans.

those looks with the pregnancy shell/forms makes me think how utterly cool a woman can actually be whilst being with child.

i can see your theory too runner in how it sort of takes on the idea of creation and the hand....and how things like pastry and pasta dough making can sort of symbolise that. it's a very interesting correlation.

the presentation in the pic above is clean but at a time it's strange and uncanny. it looks as if he was also showing us the creative dynamics in his own way.
in the front there is a boot with the union of mens heel and womens heel as a metaphor for conception.
then, through the phase of vivipary or egg with himself set there as an incubator of his own ideas,
the invisible, when it has grown enough inside, will turn into the visible. the artist in him cannot help making the intangible in his head materialize. but this is not merely a perceivable representation of what was once in his head. it's still a tangible phase of the developmental process of the idea. an artist is this nature that cannot think/feel it any further without the action of making it perceptually concrete to the eye, ear, or whatever.
so, with the udder bag maybe figurative of the nursing/oral stage, we see the ideas will keep evolving outside his brain, being directed and shaped by the necessity only his mind knows.

if I remember rightly, that coat says "leather 60% / cotton 40%" on the tag ( also there might have been the other way around version, polyurethane/cotton version, etc ). that's because it has a cotton underlayer coated with leather that was reduced to dust:
the base cotton coat, as some kind of interlining, got a treatment of the leather dust jets on a dummy individually after sewn. it's sort of object-leathered.
the texture was like dry suede or coarse velours in a way, but it looked more like something that gathered dust, which could be associated with a long period of rejection and unpopularity. another flocky item from the season was a top that was dusted ( looked thick with dust ), leaving the undusted part in the shape of a big X on the front. it could have implied the body with the arms crossed on the chest.
maybe his personal challenge here was to man's habitual ways of seeing the world.
for example things that are arbitrarily regarded as unlucky can turn lucky things if interpreted differently, the prejudice dispeled, if one is able to see from another aspect.
I think he tried to give those long-forgotten and abandoned potentials half a chance.
hence this title for F/W 02, "protection / good luck".

thought it might be good for his latest work as of now to be posted in coexistence with the past work in this thread although there is already a thread for carol christian poell 09 ( which has enough pics of these pieces from 09 but doesn't have these images posted in yet ).
