Cate Blanchett

I think she looks so soigne!
That dress could have been a horrible mess, yet she looks very light and airy(which is not easy for a black dress, imo!)

Could someone post the ed or a link, please? or at least give me info on issue and photographer?
TIA :flower:

(my own snapshot)

I remember these are shot by Karl Largfeld for Vogue Austrilia.

You can find the whole eds in Cateblanchett.net.

I have to say, I wasn't keen on the dress either. But because Cate's Cate and she has the added glow of pregnancy it works for me.
#1570  - Stunning!

her sag dress was different for her but a refreshing change, something cate is very good at doing, with her you always expect the unexpected and she always delivers 110%. the beading on the dress is incredible

Mommy-to-be Cate Blanchett glowed in a glam metallic gown by Nicolas Ghesquiere for Balenciaga. Chanel makeup artist Lucienne Zammit kept Cate’s face “dewy and fresh” — in contrast to her dark dress — using Stila Perfecting Foundation in A, $30, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in #1, $22, and LORAC Translucent Touch Up Powder in TL 1, $32. Chanel Powder Blush in Rose Petale, $40, and Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Darling, $30, enhanced Cate’s natural radiance. Zammit then brought out her blue eyes with Chanel shimmery Quadra Eye Shadows in Demure and Dunes, $55. She applied light peach shadow in the inner eye corners, rosy gold and frosted pink in the center of the eyelids, and brown in the outer corners. Mixing a smudge of the brown shadow with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre, $27, completed the look.
To relax the glitz of Cate’s dress, Matrix stylist Mark Townsend went for a “fun and sexy” style rather than an updo. He started a day early, creating texture with Amplify Foam Volumizer, $18, and a blow-out. The next morning, he sprayed Biolage colorcaretherapie Shielding Shine Mist, $15, and scrunched Cate’s hair all over. Before using a 1″ curling iron, he spritzed hair with Vavoom Gold Heat Iron-in Volume Protective Dry Mist, $14, and then curled sections from end to root, clipping each curl to set while her makeup was applied. Later, he removed the clips and raked his hands (again sprayed with the Shine Mist) through her hair. Using a natural-bristle eyebrow brush sprayed with hairspray, he tamed flyaways on top and created loose texture at the bottom.

BEST ACTRESS: CATE BLANCHETT
Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Age 38 Role English ruler Queen Elizabeth I (reprising her Oscar-nominated role in 1998's Elizabeth). Uneasy Lay the Crowned Head She found it odd revisiting a historical figure she played as a young woman nearly a decade ago. ''It was discombobulating,'' she confesses. ''It was like being followed by a shadow quite a lot of the time. The first film was such a surprise to people. No one expected it to register with audiences as strongly as it did.'' Up Next She stars in this May's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and then November's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button opposite her Babel costar Brad Pitt.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: CATE BLANCHETT
I'm Not There

Age 38 Role Jude Quinn (i.e., Bob Dylan). Bringing an Icon to Life ''I didn't want anybody to impersonate Dylan,'' says writer-director Todd Haynes about casting Blanchett to play the most recognizable of his six Bob Dylans. ''She gets right inside it.... It's not a stunt when she does it.'' From Corsets to Skinny Jeans The Australian actress started shooting I'm Not There directly after Elizabeth: The Golden Age. ''Toward the end of Elizabeth, I was obsessing about Bob Dylan,'' she says, ''and watching all of his press conferences.'' Up Next She plays a slinky Russian villainess in May's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, then stands by a backward-aging Brad Pitt in November's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
