Twenty-year old Canadian model Cate Chant hasn't lost her touch! About two years ago, Cate landed an exclusive contract with Prada and walked her first runway show in Milan at 18 years old. She was on her way to become a household name but decided to finish school first. Though she's been out of the international modeling scene for a while now, she still takes an incredible picture. I think school's out soon Cate! Cate is represented by Sutherland models.

Strangely, she doesn't really look like Freja at all, yet she strongly reminds me of her especially when her hair is up.

She's so beautiful, I wonder why she never really blew up? Perhaps her body isn't ideal for the runway...

Well, I have no clue what didn't work (or hasn't worked yet for her) but I wouldn't say this is a reason why a model can't access to the highest level today, as you'll find various body types and height embracing good careers regardless if you mean high fashion covers or juicy commercial options à la Barbara Palvin. Runway is no royal way to climb fast and high, despite a lot of people still think so. Or at least, to water it down a bit, it is far from the only one.
From my point of view, her portfolio is quite weak and most of her printwork is a bit lame. Many of the (more or less) recent pictures are neither commercial enough to open her some doors on this side nor of an artistic value that truly does justice to her peculiar face. Now if this is a matter of skills that would need some practice or improvement, pure bad luck or the sum of different factors like these, I don't know.

I think it was her choice. If I recall, someone mentioned in this thread that she was skipping fashion week to go to Florida and do showjumping with her horse a few years ago. Cate was probably told that if she wanted to truly make it as a model she needed to devote less time to her horses/studies and she wasn't willing to sacrifice that.

Cate is finishing a university degree in neurochemistry in Massachusetts.

So she's gorgeous... and super bright :woot: I must say, I am a little envious ;) Glad to see she's still getting work though. I like that Flare ed ^_^
