Three better than none because she's just great:D Continuing her typical style but adding something a bit different and surprising....bandaging:shock: :) Diane says her work reminds her of David Cronenberg and I think I'd have to agree unanimously.

Thank you Scott
Looks very, very dark...more metal than I remember seeing in her work, though I'm not really an expert on her by any means.

I'm not sure if I like the shape of that last dress...but I'm excited to see more...

^You're welcome ^_^

Yeah, there is a bit more of an emphasis on metal this time although she has worked with it before. More strappings as well.

I really love the first outfit though!

i really like the concept.
and the only wearable thing (purple dress). :p

Mullet--you don't think the shirt and skirt are wearable? ;)

I like this look. It's kind of mechanical, industrial - as cerfas said, 'metal'... without looking stiff or robotic. Though I can't decide to which torture device those shoes best compare.

I like bandages =D Hmm those shoes look doubtful though, how would you wear that??

very pretty... ...never heard of this designer to be honest.... but this looks very interesting!

^maybe in short distances. Otherwise, one better have their Puma's at hand to change into

They're beautiful though. It's really all part of the aesthetic...she probably just did them for presentation/image purposes.

the shoes look really great, very stylish.....i would buy one pair and display them in my apartment, as an object.....

Interesting...very stark, but not entirely dystopian.

David Cronenberg is a good analogy - this stuff, like his work, becomes mildly unsettling if you look at it too closely for too long.

^ You and Faust are the only two who've sent me to the dictionary ... luckily your word is in the unabridged :p

Main Entry: dys·to·pia
Pronunciation: (")dis-'tO-pE-&
Function: noun
Etymology: New Latin, from dys- + -topia (as in utopia)
1 : an imaginary place where people lead dehumanized and often fearful lives
2 : ANTI-UTOPIA 2
- dys·to·pi·an /-pE-&n/ adjective

Those shoes remind me of the foot measuring devices that you rarely see anymore ... maybe they're only in kids' shoe depts ...

bump*

Just noticed your post in the S. Backlund thread, Scott
your mentioning of Giacomini ^_^
and glad to be able to find her work here

i love the style
seems like an industrial utilitarian uniform
very fond of the details/decors

does she have a website?
i'd really like to see more of her work
i think this is the only thread on her work here

she used too gius. but she stopped the collection and went back in sweden to do some metal work collaborations(hence the metal stuff here)with her metal craftsman father. so she retired her line for a bit. i'm sure she'll be back though. its funny because this was actually her last collection.

there's some other posts too in the indie megathread too, btw! you just have to go back a bit.

ah~! :o the images have all disappeared

here is one image of a sweater of bones #142

Anyway thanks scott
I'm glad to hear more about her aesthetic and ideas
scars, maybe something like memento mori
Makes this collection a bit easier to understand

It's the look that seems to have a backpack is the one i like most ^_^ !
odd shapes
and now i just realise the neck accessory is a skeleton of a necktie
I was thinking maybe bridges or eiffel tower when I first saw it
