Catherine Mcneil est une jeune mannequin d'origine Australienne née le 30 mai 1989 à Brisbalne. Adolescente l'école l'ennuie, elle préfère de loin réparer les voitures avec son papa. Très jeune, elle se destine donc à une carrière de mécanicienne!
En 2003, Catherine McNeil participe à un concours australien « Models Search » qu'elle remporte. Elle pose alors pour plusieurs publicitée et décide à l'age de 17 ans de s'installer à Sydney pour se rapprocher de son agence « The Chic Model Agency ».
Catherine McNeil est alors remarquer par le célèbre photographe Mario Testino qui tombe littérallement sous son charme : « je crois sincèrement que Catherine McNeil a ce truc qui fera d'elle un mannequin extraordinaire ». Mario sait de quoi il parle, il n'en est pas à sa première découverte; Gisèle Bunchen, Kate Moss ou encore Carolyne Murphy en sont la preuve. Il croit tellement en elle qu'il lui fait signer un contrat d'exclusivité de six mois!
Catherine McNeil enchaîne les campagnes de pub : Cue, Zimmerman, Simona, et fait, entre autre, une apparîtion dans le vogue US. En 2007 elle est bookée dans presque tout les plus grands défilés; Roberto Cavalli, Etro, Versace, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Christian Lacroix, etc.. Présente dans la campagne de D&G, elle est la nouvelle image d'Hugo Boss et succède à Julia Stegner. Les rédacteurs de mode les plus coriaces semblent subjugé par elle et certain la compare d'or et déjà à la célèbre Linda Evangelina.

Catherine Mcneil is a young model from Australia born the 30th of may, 1989 in Brisbalne. She prefered to fix cars with her father, and early on, decided to pursue a career in mechanics.
In 2003, Catherine participated in the Australian "Model Search", which she won. She then went on to pose for many campaigns and decided, at the age of 17, to move to Sydney to be closer to her agency, "Chic Model Agency".
Catherine McNeil is also noted by the photographer, Mario Testino, who claims that Catherine has that something that is in the making of a supermodel. Mario knows what he's talking about, this is not his first discovery; Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss and Carolyn Murphy are his proof. He believes in her so much, that he made her sign an exclusive 6 month contract with him.
Catherine McNeil is picking up many "pub" campaigns: Cue, Zimmermann, Simona, and along with these, makes an appearance in Vogue US. In 2007 she is booked in almost all of the higher end shows; Roberto Cavalli, Etro, Versace, Valentino, Stella McCartney, Christian Lacroix, etc.. Presented in the D&G campaign, she is the new face for Hugo Boss, replacing Julia Stegner. Everyone seems to be under her charm and some compare her to gold and, already, to the one and only, Linda Evangelina.

Earlier this year Times fashion writer Guy Trebay declared 17-year-old Catherine McNeil to be “fashion’s latest crush,” citing her photo shoots for Mario Testino, her campaigns for Hugo Boss and Dolce & Gabbana, and her sudden status as the sought-after runway model. McNeil has lived on the Lower East Side since moving from Australia in February and can often be found at expat hangout Ruby's wolfing chicken burgers like her mom used to make. “It’s chicken breast, and you can put lettuce and sweet chili sauce and stuff on it,” she explains. Not that she did much eating out this week between shoots for Another magazine and Versace. We caught her on the way to the airport (she was flying to Paris for a Gaultier shoot) and asked her what she noshed on.
Monday, November 5
We were doing Versace. I had some banana bread for breakfast. I went out to lunch at Barolo with my booker because I was working in the morning. I had sea bass with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I had cheesecake for dessert.
Tuesday, November 6
I had Raisin Bran for breakfast. I usually don’t like eating first thing in the morning. For lunch I had a huge plate of green salad and vegetables. For dinner I had chicken noodle soup and a honey-and-oat bar from room service. I don’t like cooking because you cook too much and the food gets wasted.
Wednesday, November 7
I worked from 11 am to 7 p.m., shooting for Another magazine. I had a handful of nuts and some fruit for breakfast on the job. For lunch I had some vegetables and salad. When I got home, I was so tired that I passed out, so I didn’t eat dinner.
Thursday, November 8
I had some scrambled eggs and fruit on the shoot. For lunch I had salad. I worked late and then went home and fell asleep, so I missed dinner again.
Friday, November 9
I woke up starving. I had a toasted egg, ham, and cheese sandwich. For lunch I had salad niçoise — with tuna and carrots and stuff like that. That’s my favorite salad. And I had a chocolate-chip cookie. I try to eat healthy and clean food — not eat bad stuff. You can’t go and eat five chocolate bars every day.
