Basically it's impossible for black women to have straight hair if they continue to get their hair done all the time. If Beyonce put heat/chemicals to her hair every time she needed to perform or make a public appearance, her real hair would fall out, it'd be so fried. So it's actually practical for her to wear weaves/wigs to protect her natural hair.

I don't believe this is true. Zoe Saldana has naturally coarse hair but seems to have a relaxer and has been wearing her hair straight for many years now. Oprah revealed that her stylist straightens her hair every. She even had pics of her naturally coarse hair-- which is very thick and long. Everyone thought she had wig or weave but all her hair is her own. Some celebrities do wear wigs to protect their hair from stylists who don't know how to care for black hair properly.

I saw the episode where Chris Rock was promoting Good Hair. He didn't believe Oprah's hair was real so she let him feel it.

Solange did decide to shave her hair but she was wearing weaves before all the time.
and what i got from Good Hair is that, the more u put chemicals in your hair, the less hair u ll have. but some people get addicted or don t feel complete until they have extentions or weaves or whatever it is the choose to put in their hair

I said that in my post, Solange wore weaves but it was for the same reason other white and non-black women wear weaves and wigs.

Your post proves that Good hair is trash and that one black woman cannot talk for all black women. I had a relaxer for over 10 years and never experienced hair loss. My hair has always been thick and reached the middle of my back. I can have straight hair with a relaxer simply by getting a good blow dry and flat iron like other women. Every woman, no matter their color, that decides to wear a weave/wig does so because of their own individual reason.

This thread started getting pictures of other non-black celebs after others started contributing, but it seems certain posters only want to focus on certain races and think a movie has made them expert on said hair.

Your post said you've had sewn in as well. Also, it seems your addicted to the blonde and use special straighterners such as the Brazillian blow dry to achieve straight hair. Do you need all of this to feel complete?

My point in all of this is that in many of your post you talked as if you were an expert about black women's hair. I can't see your pictures but from your post it doesn't seem like your black but have reached your expertise from a movie made by a comedian. You could have easily just referred to your experience in this thread instead of talking about something you know very little about and are going by internet rumours.
