Chanel Boy Handbags S/S 2012 : Alice Dellal by Karl Lagerfeld

It couldn't get more messy and random, could it?

it's ok...it's better than i expect actually. i thought it would be a huge mess, but it's kind of lovely

Awful! The casting in the last few Chanel campaigns has been positively awful. I miss Daria or even Freja! They need some new faces! None of this B-Grade Celebrity casting. It really lowers the aesthetic integrity of the brand, no? :innocent:

what a disaster!

and why on earth does a girl like Alice represent Chanel?

The 'film' is horrific - obvious product placement, but not deliberately so, and awkward, unnatural styling.. plus she can't act to save her life. How hard is it to sit on a chair in a natural manner?

In fact I quite like the "Boy" handbags from any Chanel bags for a long time. But this ad campaign is such a bad way to display it.

Anyway, we know Chanel will still sell lots of Boy bags no matter how bad the campaign is.:innocent:

These bags are impeccable, so luxurious and structured. Although I remember seeing a more substantial image, that was shot after the F/W 2011 show. Karl could photograph accessories on a simple platform and still notice a dramatic rise in sales. I've never understood Alice's appeal, yet I understand the practicality of Alice being in the ads.

she seems to be more in touch with the rebellious side of chanel (black, leather, chains) but also has the blue blood heritage that could represent the more proper side (tweed, pearls) i get why karl chose her. i would take her over lily allen or blake lively any day honestly.
