Heavy and lacking any and all grace, some of the things in here are beyond tacky and infantile.
It's surprising how little idea she has about proportion, color and even fabric selection. The knits in here are surely expensive but they look like they were fished out of a salvation army bin...

This looks like FW 1999 and FW 1994 had a baby.
Tbh, this is less bad than usual because the coats are good, timeless and well executed.
No doubt that this collection will be a commercial success as all the elements are there. But there’s something depressing in her approach to Karl’s archives.
Karl did the fake fur in 1994. It was a small portion of that collection. He used that concept to build an entire collection in 2010...
There’s nothing creative or playful in her approach to his archives or even Chanel. She is like MGC as she really indulges with commercialism...
Dressmaking is really not her forte. And that’s maybe why this collection is less offensive. It’s about items that will sell. That touch of Nostalgia in a new packaging. It worked for Donatella, for MGC and it surely will work for Chanel.
But I still won’t buy any of her clothes tho!

I love the presentation, make me want to rewatch Mahogany. I like the cinematic allure of the presentation. To the Chanel copycat this is how you sell a Chanel jacket.
The outerwears are the star of this collection, it's chic and have that timeless feel to it.
I can do without those ugly logo pants. She need a new stylist, because individually the clothes are great but the way she styled it with the fur boots just make everything "Instagram". So call Carlyne maybe, she can make these clothes look more fun.
A great collection this time, better than her offering in couture.

She should call Emmanuelle. That way, it’s a two in one (out from VP and go back to Chanel). Considering that she did good for the campaigns with Karl, she will do good for the runway with Virginie...
With Carlyne, I fear that it might look like a cheap version of the original work they did in the early 90’s.
I don't want to repeat the same comment every season, so I will take our ambassador Chanel Lola's comment with a grain of salt this time. Although this collection brings some nostalgia of Karl, it is still like what Maria Grazia would do for Chanel.

It's less offensive because it tried to stay away from the dresses and the models do have attitudes here.
The problem tho is that there's nothing new to tell. What I love about Karl is that beyond good clothes, there's always something to say. There's a message. Sometimes it resonates, sometimes it doesn't. Here she just goes through day by day doing clothes and stuff that will sell.
I mean there's nothing wrong with commercialism but there's a way to elevate it. There's a way to make a statement. And god, she really adore the fuchsia pink, huh?

Ugh, the nightmare continues! She makes Mary's collections look like pieces of art next to this. Who will wear these clothes, is there even a market for boho Chanel?
I was one of the few who defended Virginie's first few collections because I believed she'd find her feet. Guess I was wrong. This collection is worst than her first 3. Thankfully for her Chanel is all about tradition and they won't just sack her. They'd try and make it work, but at this stage, she seems a lost cause.

This show is so heavy-handed and conserative. It's blatantly commercial and unimaginative. However, what should we expect from Virginie? Obviously she's not really creative and the suits seem to be ok with that. What's a more complicated question, what should we expect from Chanel at this point? In which direction should the house go in the future? Now they have no direction at all because all Virginie can do is to take some pieces from the archives and remake them in a really basic way.

So all the furs from the iceberg collection are fake. Does Chanel ever use real furs? Did you see that show in real life? To have a real iceberg in Paris that much be the most extravaganza Chanel set ever.

Heavy, boring and random...the beggining and the end of the film hide how insipid this collection is, but when u see the models looking so bad walking or analize the pictures...oh god...
