Chanel Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Paris

It’s terrible but somehow, I don’t hate it.
It’s weird because there’s something terribly not modern about the cut of some of the clothes and how heavy they looks in a very 80’s/90’s way but at the same time, we see a desire to add modernity through the attitude and the boots.
Some pieces are great like the sweater dress on Mona.

I still prefer this to what Virginie did but really, I can’t wait for Matthieu to start.

I don't know, the team delivered very good RTW collections but the HC is really terrible. Last season they used those garish bright colours that looked terribly dated paired with tweed ensemble. For this season the silhouette is very boxy and heavy and again the overall feeling is very demodè and dusty looking.
I think it's pretty clear the HC design director is not as skilled as the RTW one...

ahhh mmmm naa ......this time it's the same what Virginie did if we did not know none of us could know the difference.

the not modern parts are the 1910 - 1920 -1930 etc elements that will always be in Chanel that's why it will always be a bit out of fashion feeling with chanel as it was with KL and VV and Studio Team. will be also with Blazy boy.

but my main feeling i had was as a hc client i would be pissed knowing the designer is already there but is not intervening with design i get something soulless with shiny embroidery on it even with VV the HC magic at Chanel felt lost but at least she was a person behind it a woman and with a long history at the house trying to please her mentor and the owners.

i just find it not honest to the client and not brave of Blazy and management (i can understand they want to set a aura for chanel meaning you can't just jump in from outside and do it but honestly with all we know its just BS )

because its luxury your should sell and present the best product you can and its odd to say no buy this this collection first that is not the best we have to offer but come back september then you get the best we have to offer.

Blazy should have silently start improving on every creative output they had since his first day in office , chanel just saying he is official debut is september and smile to any rumors if he was already influencing the collection leading up to his full debut.
later they can admit it as a way to say we wanted our clients to start getting the best we had in house as always this never stops its Chanel but wanted Blazy to do it in the best conditions without outside noise and organically etc etc

you buy next blazy chanel and all your last 2 year items look like old lady clothes what's that say about chanel being timeless etc

i dont know this feeling came up looking at the final clip lol

Virginie is still haunting the brand I see...
Left: Couture FW23, Right: Couture FW25
You know there's Virginie behind when you see an embroidered bib design LOL

There are some looks that are downright terrifying, but I still find it superior to the previous couture and even the SS25 rtw. As for the scenography, it is certainly not innovative but I prefer it to those stupid objects of disproportionate size placed in the centre of the Grand Palais. By the way, is this the Grand Palais?

I don’t find the 1910´s-1920-1930’s not modern.
What I precisely find old fashioned here is that particular padded round shoulder with the décolleté round neck. It’s very late 80’s early 90’s Chanel.

Karl did the 1930’s with the Paris-New York prefall collection in 2006. But it did looked like the modern (at the time) version of that.
Even the Casino Couture and the FW2009 collection from which a lot of pieces of this show seems to be inspired by, didn’t looked dated.

You can’t blame them (the studio) for pulling back from the archives but I don’t understand that obsession for the 80’s/90’s…Out of all the decades they could have pulled from.

The clients may as well order a dress from the Casino Couture collection instead of getting the not so inspired diluted version.

yes definitely also 80´s but my point was that 1910-1930 is core chanel always in every collection coming back and most people don't find these propositions and silhouettes of today because the waste is dropped or the silhouette is H no waist etc sure the shoulders are added on top are very 80´s and earl 90´s old school.

Chanel should an always pulls from archive i wish more brands interact with archives instead of trying to make x brand into something of another brand, but true the 80´s is odd choice!!!
But i honestly think they are stuck for years with wrong proportions that it almost is part of chanel now to expect bulky square odd unflattering portions that pretend to be in service of chanel woman as the chanel silhouette.

while coco version where more trimmed down and balanced but they do it as most clients are not perfect coco clients bodies of her time :-)

like i said its just does not feel honest nor top luxury the way they continue to do studio let collections when they know they have to improve on many levels after years of chasing easy money.

blazy has also problems with his portions in rtw & shoes at BV so i feel it wont change at chanel much
