I was just at Chanel FJ Ala Moana today and saw this limited edition J12. It was black with diamond markers and this interesting diamond bezel, it might be the one in the new brochure they mailed out a few weeks ago. I can't find mine to confirm or scan It was $45,000 and only 12 (or possibly 25) were made. So if anyone wants a limited piece, hurry!

I was IN-LOVE with that watch ! I wanted it soo bad !

^Aw, I still it. I just wish I didn't hate wearing a watch. I know most people can't live without their watch, but I've refused to wear one ever since my early teens. They stress me out ("1 minute and 10 seconds to go...9...8..")

If I did wear watches I'd want a J12, though. They're soooo pretty.

Thanks for the pics. I totally want to get this watch. Does anybody know if there is a price difference if I buy this at a Chanel boutique vs. a watch store like Tourneau or some other dealer?

The answer jsmith is, YES!!! There is a difference! You can get them at authorized dealers for as much as 30% off the retail price at places like Tourneau. You just have to act like buying a car..walk in with confidence, show that you have shopped around, and know that they can offer a discount. Let them know that you have another offer at another dealer for so and so. etc.

I purchased my first Chanel J12 Full Retail from a Chanel store! But when it came time to buying the one with diamond bezel! I was prepared, and found a good deal.

I talked the $16,000 Chopard watch I wanted down to $10,166 by shopping around. (still havent bought it though)

Thats really great to know. Thanks Candicec! Is there any chance something like this would work over the phone? I dont think theres any place that would carry the J12 by my so I would ahve to do it over the phone when I do get one.

This isn't really so much about the j12, but I didn't know where else to post... I'm looking for a sportswatch similar to the chanel in the 2-5k range, theres one I like from cartier but what other brands should I check out? I'm a bit blueless about watches.

hey guessgirl, dior has one that's similar to the j12, don't know the price on it offhand. i like the J12 better. the roadster from cartier is cool, i have a soft spot for their chunky santos watch tho it's toooo big for my wrist. there's always rolex too, their men's watches are popular for women right now. i like the yachtmaster though it's a bit expensive, about 7k due to the gold/platinum on it.

Thanks pigleto! I've seen the dior and I agree the chanel is better. I'll definatly check out rolex and yatchmaster though. I tried on the 21 chronoscaph (sp?) cartier and loved it, right now it's between that and the chanel but I would like to see more.

if you like the ceramic you can also check out techomarine, they also made ceramic watches like the J12, thought I love the J12 a lot more. Actually I also saw a copy version of J12 by guess on some ads.

Like you said Cartier, i would also look at Bvlgari, but in my honest opinion (for what it's worth) for that kind of price range (2-5k) I would go Cartier , and like they say fashion goes in & out style stays. A Cartier piece is something you can always wear.
