yay! Beautiful watch! Coincidently I got my new one yesterday too, sent directly from the factory as well. I could totally tell the diff between that and the display model. It was really neat because my SA called me on my bday to let me know it was in, what awesome timing! It looked beautiful @ my little celebration last night

btw, have you noticed a lot of people wearing your watch yet? Amazingly I haven't really seen mine around yet, I've seen a couple of the regular no diamonds version before and I think one with the diamond markers, but haven't really seen anyone wearing the diamond bezel or bracelet one yet. Which is just odd to me because there are so many fashion whores around here lol.

I'm thinking white with diamond markers. My birthday is in August so I was thinking this could be a good present for myself but I must choose between the J12 and a Cartier Tank. I think I'm going to go for the J12 since the Cartier will always be around and I kind of feel like the J12 is a younger watch.

luxx, I think you'll enjoy the J12 - i have the white 38 with diamond markers, and love love it. It is sporty yet elegant. I have the tank as well, but wear this the most.

My brother just picked up a Black J12 with the Diamond bezel while he was in NY but theres something telling me that it's a fake. Are there any characteristics to tell a knockoff from the real thing? He told me he talked the guy down from $6500 to $2000 but I think he paid about $1500 too much? Any help?

RRK - sorry to break it to you, but he definitely got a fake. the black j12 with diamond bezel is closer to 10,000 bucks and there's no way you could bargain someone down to 1,500 bucks...

I saw the watch today and it doesn't have the diamond bezel. He said the guy wouldn't sell him the diamond bezel one for 1500 but would sell him just the plain black J12. What does the plain black j12 go for? Is there any chance he got a real one for $1500? thanks.

Can you post pics of that watch so we can all look and compare yours with ours? If it's just plain 33mm J12, it's like $3150 plus tax (well, 3150 was when I bought it last year I think, so I could have gone up this year). It's the watch your brother got brand new or used?

i do like the j12 alot its just wouldn't you prefer to get a watchmaker's watch rather than just a design piece. It is normally the movement that costs rather than the aesthetics.

I was just checking ebay for what the knockoff watches are going for and people are paying like $750 for what is most likely just a knock off. If the knock off watches come with the COA's what the point in even having a COA from Chanel for the real watches?

Agreed My SA was saying that the J12 really put Chanel on the map in the watch world. I also saw an article in a national watch magazine (for the life of me I cant remember which lol), about how Chanel made the transition from being strictly fashion in terms of watches to making a watch with excellent movement that can be respected in the watch community.
