Maybe he has better taste.Talking about men wearing Chanel, I'm curious why Kendrick Lamar is absent since the debut of Matthieu's collection. I remember he was signed as an ambassador a few months ago, no?
oh no lola pharrell is cringe toy dresser sure in a cartoon way it might fit him better he is skinny and not so tall so fits the boxy chanel crop jacket but i don't think he ever looked modern cool.I would say that Pharrell looked good in Chanel…At the same time, he was wearing the menswear looks from Chanel.
But yes again, a shirt is a shirt. No risk.
I think the knitwear may look good on a man.
But in reality, if they really want to take the menswear as seriously, they will have to really design stuff, like in the Karl days for men. Particularly in the tailoring space.
But it seems like workwear, knitwear has become the scapegoat for brands to do the menswear thing.
At MiuMiu, it’s that. At Vuitton except when Jaiden is wearing custom looks (who ironically are better tailored than the Pharrell stuff), it’s that too also with the Felix guy.
For a longtime it was hard to envision for who Chanel menswear was for. Nowadays, more than in 2004/2016, it makes more sense…

He is on tour I think in South America.Talking about men wearing Chanel, I'm curious why Kendrick Lamar is absent since the debut of Matthieu's collection. I remember he was signed as an ambassador a few months ago, no?
Not Hedi…lol.oh no lola pharrell is cringe toy dresser sure in a cartoon way it might fit him better he is skinny and not so tall so fits the boxy chanel crop jacket but i don't think he ever looked modern cool.
yes knit ok more easy is unisexy most shape if its plain but for that on does not need chanel .... i am for gender blurring that's not my issue for me is the fit they over do it or its too tight or cropped .
i did not mind if they would do mens wear but with a hedi not with a blazy mess but i am ok Chanel to stay 100%women oriented we have dior mens etc where you see the forced connections each season.
Jaiden is what white people think is cool black folks style ...for me no.
i think still relooking at some pics : computer says no !

Even Dior homme FW 2006 version of Hedi is borderline for me and the fit is more real janker male shape what Chanel took it from:
a not well cut one will look boxy frumpy on men easily to short or too tight or too wide why the most elegant original ones have back split for movement and but keeping the box square fit also very connected to Chanel version. slightly away from body not tight nor oversized if not the jersey or knit version are also more loose and droopy like chanel versions were in her time.
its a jacket you have to fit well on each person propstions is my biggest point.

speechless lola lolHe is on tour I think in South America.
I admit I’m into Kendrick Lamar’s music.
Not Hedi…lol.
I’m trying to have a discussion from now without having to mention his name again ahaha.
I actually like the Chanel coat Pharrell wore for the Paris Cosmopolite collection. I actually know a man who bought the same coat. He looked chic in it.
I think it’s something that would work only with someone very skinny if I wanted to follow what you was saying. The Dior Homme FW2006 jacket would look ridiculous on most men unless they are very skinny and young looking.
Short jackets on men looks ridiculous to me a lot of times.
I think this kind of jackets would look universally good on men…

But we don’t need a full Chanel menswear collection. They should stick to what they were doing. Shoes in larger sizes, some pieces that are unisex-ish.
Back in the days, I never understood the need for them to sell ties for men. It was like « Oh I bought a 3k bag and a 6K suit, here’s darling your tie » ahaha.
I think the demand for Chanel from men has shifted. The man who wants to buy Chanel wants it for the same reason as women.

Forgot to highlight this show of Prada ss2015 reminded me allot of what he tried as well and not surprised if indeed was in the Blazy Chanel folders.
And shows that a show of 10 years ago cut and proportions look more modern still than what he does now .
The collection has same loud jarring colors and even embroidery that is not slimming.

Really, interesting... Does the Dior jacket close? Hidden hooks and loops? I always loved the collection but I'm not knowledgeable about the particulars.Gonna share @PDFSD surprise, that cream white blazer with piped edges looks like s man squeezed into a jacket that belonged to a woman's skirt suit, which is the impression I got from pretty much all the Chanel menswear looks Karl Lagerfeld put out in these years.
The Dior Homme one was ironically one of the best-selling men's jackets during the time we carried Dior Homme in my retail buying career - In pretty much all the sizes. It looks pretty good when you keep the look clean and unfussy - With a black cashmere turtleneck and the clean-washed or raw denim jeans most customers favored from Dior Homme.
As PDFSD mentioned, it‘s essentially a Tirolern Janker jacket reinvented in a more sartorial manner - More like an officer's formalwear jacket and less inspired by Chanel.
But it's about the deconstruction 🧠

If it doesn't close and is still a bestseller... Wild, for men.
