Cato, are they more like tights or sheer hose? I destroy sheer hose in 2 minutes flat:(
 
^They are a delicate sheer in front. My Dad's puppies tore them apart in the span of about 5 seconds...:-/

That was my fault though...I am not usually around dogs at home, so I didn't think about it. I think with normal wear they would last.

In terms of layering to adjust the colour, how about white under the UO tights? Or other colours...it could make bright purple into a subtle greyed lilac.

There are so many possibilities, it could be really cool. B)
 
^Sorry, I was mistaken...I was referring to the UO hoisery.

I have seen the Chanel ones in Selfridges...those were a thin, but opaque texture...the best word I can think of is almost velvety-very rich.

I have had a similar pair that lasted quite well, actually- and I walk everywhere.

hmm it's so bizarre. It seems like such an obvious 'trend' piece that people will recognise as being similar to the Chanel and buy. I'm really surprised that Topshop havent picked up on them yet!
 
its weird that wolford hasn't done anything yet...i feel like theirs will be worth the money, but not as pricey as the chanel version..i bought the UO ones today( im an employee there) they turned out to be 8 bucks for me..i will try them out..they are a good "trend" piece just for the season>>cause come on.. 250+ for hosiery is insane..
 
^Maybe I am wrong, but I could immagine that Wolford considers itself to be too much luxury to make knock-offs.
 
I saw a girl wearing the UO tights in the floral version they've got now, which look a lot more similar to the floral/diagonal stripe Chanel ones. I think the front part would stand out even more if you layered white tights underneath, because the knit holes are bigger and also probably less-easily-destroyable than the plain version.
 
Does anyone know if they came out with these for cheaper? Any other brands? $230 is too much
 
How do the Urban ones look? Can someone please post a picture before I buy them. And what is the best size to get if your smaller?
