Charlize Theron

How does she manage to make the leather pants/converse combo look so good? So unfair.

Cause she's not human :p

Is this the same bag in post #879?

It's a Balenciaga Papier A4 tote. Pic from Coolspotters.

wow, she's really into promoting that movie.....it's in the Kate-Winslet-style imo
Exactly. It's seriously too much at that point. It's funny when she says it's already a gift to be back working with Reitman but man you don't do all those events when you are not really really really working hard to get an Oscar. It's a bit disappointing. For Monster and North Country she didn't do a third of the campaigning she is doing atm.

The upside is that we will probably see her at every existing awards. Besides from the talk shows, she is going to attend the Satellite award soon I believe. After the awards season she'll have a month or so of break and will start filming Mad Max in Namibia (?) and come back and forth between Africa and the rest of the world to promote both Prometheus and SWATH which opens the same day. We didn't see her for 3 years and now we are literally donna see her everywhere

Some great red carpet galore to come tho :D

^Ammarra I agree that she is campaigning super hard (a la Winslet) but she has been off the radar for three years and you know she has to remind everyone that she is back. PLus "Young Adult" is not a serious cut and dry drama so she does have to work a bit harder to get that Oscar nom.

Yes but what I really like about her was how rare she was and how mysterious she could be. I don't want her to try the whole desperate Oscar campaigning a la Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Halle Berry or Sandra Bullock.

I understand you - she was really "different" for a long time in Hollywood but I think at this point she is trying that "desperate Oscar campaigning" as you call it :( - at least compared to Meryl Streep or Michelle Williams who are also in the run for nominations and I do not take the argument "well, the movie is not a drama"-excuse or that she was off the radar for 3 years (NO actress is ever present - impossible thing so being off the radar is cyclic and part of the business)...ehhhmmmm no...she just really wants that nom and is playing the game like Bullock or Winslet did, that's it...

This promo tour doesn't seem any bigger than normal for me. I really can't wait to see this movie but to be honest I don't think she will get an Oscar nom. Maybe a Globe but the Best Actress race is really hard this year. There are so many to consider.

Oh lord. So beautiful. Terrific outfit, I need an ID for that dress. Shane did a fabulous job with her make up as usual. Love the darker blond hair as well, I am really happy she is done with Prometheus and the bleached hair is done. Thank you Catherine :flower:
Can't wait for the LA premiere! Hopefully she will bring it :)

She's not won any of the critics awards that have been handed out or even been runner up so she's battling for the fifth Oscar Nom that the likes of Glenn Close, Elizabeth Olsen and Rooney Mara are; I think Meryl, Viola, Michelle and Tilda are probably getting in. She'll definitely get a Golden Globe Nom though.

She just got a nom from the Critic's Choice (its televised on VH1 - YAY!!!) and they are a good predictor of the Oscar nominations. I do not think she will win, the Academy will give it to Viola or Meryl. BUt I do think CHarlize will get a nomination for an Oscar. The movie will be seen by the Academy because they already like Charlize and they like the director Reitman.
