Ford Models didn't include her in their show package for this week's NY fashion week which I thought was a tad strange since she was one of the top 3 finishers. Chanel Iman was there and she was in the top 5.

In this week's New York, is a poll of some of the new models plying their trade for this week's show and she's not there either. Again, Chanel was there.

All these incidentals don't mean anything conclusive but you have to wonder....is Charo perhaps opting to finish school first? Not everyone who places moves to NY the same year but you would think she would take advantage of her 3rd place win last January to ride the tide.......

The 15 newbies were not identified but Chanel Iman is pretty easy to ferret out. It's in this week's issue of New York, page 18.

I watched the Full Frontal coverage of the Lacoste show last night and Charo didn't model for them. If y'all remember, she walked for them during last February.

I think Charo is based in the Philippines, right? Chanel Iman is from the USA so its easy for her to be casts in shows.

Majority of these new models are not from the US honey. They too have realized that you can be the most promising new model living in say, Estonia but unless you move out of your comfort zone and make sacrifices for a shot at a career as a model in America, this potential will just be that....a potential.

But hey, who knows? Charo could show up at the last minute.

She is yes.

I should mention that it seems Chanel Iman is most visible of this year's Ford Models' top five winners. I saw her walking for Badgely Mischka, a major get for a newbie.

The NY Fashion Week is over (the tents went down Saturday morning).....hopefully, we'll see her in February for the Fall 2007 shows.

Many newbies do the European circuit first, create some buzz and use that buzz to catapult them to the front of the pack of the new models aiming for the spotlight in the NY shows.

I am sure Charo is merely waiting in the wings for her shot. Ford deemed her worthy of a third place finish after all.

I saw her in Philippine Fashion Week 2005(she was a guest, did not do the catwalk) , she looks a tad bit like Kate Moss. Some of the pictures posted doesn't look lflattering, maybe its the lighting or make up

she is a breath of fresh air. i hope she ushers in a new era of unconventional supermodels. dont get me wrong. she is gorgeous but like the new james bond (daniel craig), she is not typical. i like her a lot. she already has the looks i hope she puts in more fierceness and attitude .
