Cheap Chic - Bargain Hunting

Forever 21 is really the mecca of affordable clothing... and the great thing is that the amount of each item they get in is rather limited, so chances are you won't see too many others wearing the same item.

Their accessories are kick ***, too. :)

The dresses at Forever 21 seems to be improving- stylewise that is...

I agree LMB. I think it's because they own Rampage or Rampage owns them...(I think that's the company)...so they probably have to keep up stylewise. :)

I bought these at Payless...I think they're cute for spring/summer...

$16.99

Too bad the quality sorta sucks at forever 21.

I bought this dress:
http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=Dresses&product%5Fid=2026979973&Page=2

and I absolutely love it. It is so flattering on.. and looks like such crap on the webpage.

The only thing that sucked is that one of the seams was coming loose when I received it! good thing my mom can sew very well.

Their dresses are very cute though.
I love that dress! I tried it on, and it wasn't very flattering to my curves...

Even if you don't have a lot of money, it is much better to shop get quality merchandise (check the sales!) than cheaply made merchandise. I've gotten a Tracey Reese top for $15, or Anthropologie circle skirts for $40 each, Blue Cult jeans for $15 (consignment shop), an AMAZING Prada sweater for $20 (consignment shop), a Vera Wang cocktail dress for $75 (TJ Maxx) and the most fabulous vintage jewelry at antique stores.

Otherwise I suggest going to places like Feline's Basement (the Vault), TJ Maxx, Marshall's and even goodwills. Also, H&M can be pretty convenient for trendy items.

^ I agree on Filene's... you can get pretty lucky if you invest your time into it...

i must admit to liking this place. i never used to, but a couple days ago i found a bunch of stuff there... the problem is, you can only take five items into the dressing room :innocent:

That's "policy"...it really depends on the store/employee you have check you in. I've has instances where I've had one pair of pants and a bunch of tops...and the chicka working there let me take all of it in cuz I wanted to see the pants with all the diff tops...and she prolly didn't feel like checking me in and out every ten minutes. This was somewhere in Maryland BTW. Thank goodness for underpaid, overworked sales associates. In stores like that...it really depends on when you go and who you have helping you.

I can be very iffy about Forever 21.
The definite pro is that I can alwaysfind something there that fits my style and likings. And some of the items I have brought there have lasted me through more than two years (usually something that is made by more than one material FYI). But I'm allergic to the accessories and the fact that the fact that most of the time the quality does suck... I do love browsing there, though.

Oh, and the prices of course. :D

I almost forgot to mention: A lot of the items I've seen at Forever 21- believe it or not- are priced a lot cheaper in these no-name stores that I've been to.

Totally. I hate that. And the lines are always so long... at least at the one where I go... So really... the hassle almost cancels out the cheap prices of the items... but it's still fun to go there. :flower:
