Child-like Style

You know, I was thinking and I came up with this idea that we want more innocence in the world. More things that are just lovely and cute as opposed to war and all those other horrible things. You know, like we are developing a cry for playfulness in the world. And we express that in many way. One of them is this whole motion in fashion. Others might be an interest for fairytales in movies and musicals, or even in fashion (see the Fairy-Tales thread ;) ) But also, in our models! We are seeing so many innocent, childish and cute models nowadays. Some examples:

Or am I talking complete crap here :p

i guess you're right mr.dale.

for me though (and i've noticed it's different for everyone according to their vision of childhood) the interpretation is a little more wild and forlorn, not so much the porcellain-doll-innocence that models like gemma ward incorporate
....

here is a wonderful image by robin grierson that i thought would fit in this thread.

It's all too much for me.

All the designers Scott mentioned...

Ah, I love, love, love this type of thing; (Primary) colours, polka dots, strange prints (fruits, animals), knee-high socks, cartoonish umbrellas, full skirts, pom poms, masks, unusual shapes and proportions... etc.
I have so many childrens' socks, tights and jewellery. :ninja:

Bjork pulls this off wonderfully:

Yeah yeah, here comes Mr-Dale with his Galliano's again, I know I know :p . But this fits here perfectly. A collection inspired by kids playing dress up. Yes, kids that is. It's FW 00-01, from www.firstview.com
