Roey . .

I just  you! You are cracking me up!!!!

Edit: I wanted to add that, that bag (iris satchel) caught my eye. It's like the camera bag but elongated kinda and with a long strap. Easily to do for messenger style. It was really cute and if I was a bazillionaire I would have got it (as well as many others).

SoCal - OMG your bags are beautiful! I say go with the white - since you already have the more 'practical' whiskey colour. The white is very chic, very French Riviera in the summer drinking Kir Royales... while the noir is New York city, below 14th st., smoking outside of a hidden bar. I always like to romantisize my bag-carrying experiences.

Jbelle - fab description!!! Seriously -- you put me "right there" !

Okay, I DON'T need an anthracite zippy, so you could have an "exclusive" on that one kare!

BTW, I purchased the chocolate Betty and it is a victim of fabric/dye transfer. Be careful of the Betty bags! My "leather expert" is trying to reduce the transfer, but said it is somewhat inevitable with this type of leather. So...Betty will soon go to either sis or ebay!

This is very distressing - as a chocolate Betty was gonna be my next Chloe purchase! What kind of colour transfer is it? Denim? Do you think if I got one of the smaller Bettys - one that had to be hand-carried, I could avoid the transfer?

You'd think that they'd treat their leather so it wouldn't happen - or at least pick better leather for the bag!

Maybe I should go for one in patent instead.

mammab - thanks!

Cheers for posting those Betty pictures! I've been obsessing over the chocolate ones for over a week - and I spotted the little one that I drooled over in your pics. Are you going to get one? I've been trying to decide between an Edith and a Betty - and it's hard when you can't compare them side by side. I wish the Ediths would come out already!

Welcome to my life, I find myself buying bags for a life I don't have, like the chanel bag I got because I think it would be sooo cute to wear out at night to a chic bar.....too bad I never, ever go out at night, much less to a swanky bar :p

You know, at first, I fell fast and hard for the Edith -- but since I've been made to wait a few months I've moved on. The Edith is really cute, but I keep thinking its not for me anymore, I dunno. If the leather was more wrinkly/distressed I would go for it, but from all the photos I have seen on ebay they're all smooth and I don't like the brown lining at all. I am gearing more towards the Bettys.

For whatever reason, that pistachio green color betty is on my mind. It was totally cute! Also they had a large white betty which was fabulous. I just don't get why so expensive. Anyone????

LOL, LOL! :D :D

Last summer, I went crazy buying those flowy silk tops to wear with jeans and heels - for those special nights out. Now I have a closet full of pretty Shelli Segal and BCBG silk tops that never saw the light of day, nevermind a night out on the town. I have been eyeballing and drooling over Chanel bags for years but they just don't match my "no life" lifestyle. I could use that fabulous multi-pocket reporter bag though...

SoCal - here is my .02, or maybe .04! If you bought Betty at a department store, return her. NM and Nordstrom will take back bags with dye transfer - I have done it!

If you purchased Betty at a Chloe shop, show them the damage, and politely but firmly ask for store credit toward another bag. Get a Zippy in either Blanc or Noir (assuming they only have one or the other, not both) in exchange. Return the duplicate Zippy to either NM or Nordstrom, and now you can own all three colors without having to choose!

The information above is a public service tip from Roey's Shopping 101 class! :D

Roey...I was waiting to hear from you as well!

I appreciate your Betty suggestion in particular. I am a bit bummed that I purchased her at the Chloe boutique...they are a bit less, shall we say, "customer friendly"...(when I called Chloe, the SA gave me the referral for the leather expert)... In contrast, when I purchased the blanc zippy today at Nordstroms, I asked the SA about the potential for dye transfer...she said to bring it back if I had any problems...

So why isn't that cute Iris satchel more popular? The one with the tassles on the bottom shelf in the first and second picture? It is also called the "mini speedy". It's adorable and under-rated, unless it just doesn't look that good IRL.

Let's belong to the same brothel, posting wh*re! (A couple of glasses of wine this evening...hubby out of town on a business trip...too much time for bag obsession.) The handles on the iris are quite short and the bag is very boxy IRL. I like the look of it from far away, but up close the proportions seem a bit off.

(She refills her wine glass on that note... 3 zippy bags??? A bit excessive???)

Both sound fantastic...keep going!

Tip from shopping 102 class: Might you ask to speak to the manager of the Chloe boutique? I think you have a case. They could hopefully get reimbursement from Chloe and give you another bag in exchange. You haven't had Betty that long, and it is expensive. I realize some people aren't comfortable "making waves", but I tend to be pretty assertive in these cases when my hard earned money is on the line. It's worth a try!

That said, I still prefer the Noir but only because the Blanc could get dirty and you could also be faced with the color transfer issue yet again.

Do you have satchels too or just zippys, I can't remember.

No satchels...my current Chloe "collection" includes the following...

Large zippy in whiskey :D
Large zippy "inspections" in blanc and noir
Chocolate Molly :D
Chocolate Betty (w/ denim transfer  )
Large silverado python (chocolate/cognac) :D

Edith on the way from NAP (but don't expect to love for same reason as indicated by mammab...had to "look" at it anyway

(Now I need a shot of tequila...)

:p LOL! These bags ARE my dream life.

I did actually have a short stint on the French Riviera drinking Kir Royales - you wanna know what bag I carried? A free messenger bag made out of cheap nylon bec. my designer purse was nicked by a pick pocketer! My other designer baby stayed indoors in my hotel room after that!

Which one is the Molly? Describe it for me so I can say, oooh, now I know...
