Nawth -- you should soooo not feel inferior at all! As a matter of fact, I totally respect you for your willpower.

Oh, I have no willpower. I just don't have any money

socal, i'm not crazy about the look of the edith on you -- the zippy has a more modern look that i think suits you better. i don't believe in buying bags on what you have or don't have -- unless you're buying to collect them (or pass them down to your daughter or to sell them on ebay), then buy the bags you will use and i think you will get a lot of use out of your zippys.

SoCal, my vote goes for the edith. I really like the look, and don't think it'll make you look like a stodgy, old, prof at all. ;)

I really like the Edith too. If you didn't have any other paddingtons then I think it would be a tougher decision. The Edith looks newer, cleaner - I think it's really classy looking.

I vote for the zippy! i'm so jealous of your zippy collection. :flower:

Whiskey Hobo
Whiskey Satchel (tomorrow!!)

Didn't you already have more than one whiskey bag? I feel like I remember a picture (the one with the pretty living room in the background!) with multiple whiskeys. Am I going crazy or did you end up sending one of those back?

I feel like the relationships you all have with these bags that you buy to check out and maybe return is like my own little soap opera :flower: I can hear the cheesy tv announcer saying "will she take the bag? will the bag come with the dreaded pealing?", stay tuned....

SoCal, I really, really hate to be the dissenter because you look fab carrying all of your other Chloe's... but I'm not digging the Edith on you! :( Is that the medium size or the large? It looks out of proportion for some reason. The Zippy looks so much better and so much more YOU. Like you are truly comfortable carrying it.

Let me put it this way - if you can't rock Edith then there's no hope for me LOL! :D I think my lemming for this one can officially be put to rest.

It is the medium. It is offically going back... (A) I feel some like, but no love... (B) The handles are too short and not super comfortable (the bag is a bit heavier than the Bal city, the handles are shorter). (C) It feels smaller than the dimensions indicate. (D) I would not use it for work (too small, handles too short, would not fit what I need for work). (E) I like every one of my other bags better... (F) I think the paddy doctor and professor bags have some "potential"... (G) When I purchase a bag that I really like, I feel completely satisfied (for at least a few days...), don't get that feeling... (Z) ... Whew! Now I can relax (or start thinking about a "replacement")...

SoCal - the edith reminds me of a balenciaga office bag and we know what happened to yours. I've preordered an Edith also, but I'm thinking I will probably cancel it because it does remind me of the office bag - which I sold also. Its a large, hand-held purse! If it was $400 I may think differently, but $1275 is 2/3rds of a zippy!

EXACTLY! I did not feel love for the Bal work after use...would prefer to return for credit now rather than having my instincts confirmed later...

Its official - prices for the regular paddington have increased (again)! The regular is now $1540 at Chloe NY.

I know, with all the problems that the paddys have been known to have (bad locks, weird leather issues, etc) its a good thing that the SA's are kind enough to send them to me so I can pick the best out of the litter. For example, with the white hobo.

Oh yeah, I did have the whiskey but sent it back because the inside pocket was really bothering me (the cell phone pocket was unraveling) and then ontop of it, I wasn't sure if the satchel was for me as I was truly in love with the hobos. But I do miss it, especially after oogling the silver one at nordies and realized just how practical they infact are! So I reordered one online.

I just have to stick up for myself and send back a bag if its not perfect. For a while I was just accepting all these little discrepencies but after roey and everyone else talked some sense into me, I woke up!

Oh and I just left the FedEx guy a note at the door pretty much authorizing him to leave the packages at my front door and sign for me so I don't have to face him!! I also asked him in the note to NOT ring the doorbell b/c hubby is home. Hopefully it will work. I keep checking the front door over and over. Still no bags....but soon they will come!

Man, that sucks. I hate when they increase their prices. I was totally shocked when Mulberry raised the price for the Roxanne $200 !! Talk about a price increase. Insane.

Cougess...What bags are you contemplating?

Just the regular ivory. I had 2, returned them, and now regret it. Did not want to buy one off ebay and luckily the boutique in NY received some more on Saturday. Did the same thing with Whiskey - had it, returned it, regretted it and rebought it (from Nordstroms). Hard to believe that these bags were originally "only" $1380. Thanks to your edith pics and commentary, I'm going to cancel my pre-order (and hope I don't regret it later, but I'm pretty comfortable with this decision). It does look too much like a briefcase and I don't like the handles.

I am going "cold turkey" on the Edith. Sending my original back to NAP and cancelled my BG and NM preorders. Too many other bags that suit me better...

Let me tell you, my car is in for a check-up today and the doctor just called to say it needs $1500 in work. I'm DYING trying to decide to do it or not, is it worth it, etc, spending this much money on my car is totally killing me and stressing me out.

However, if you dangled a bag I love in front of me and asked for $1500 I wouldn't hesitate to give you the money, in fact, I did that just last week to get my tan paddy:lol:

My priorities are so in order, spend $1500 to fix something on my car that could cause me to lose control on the highway, or don't fix it and buy a new bag.....hmmmm, tough decision, and I'm totally not kidding here ^_^

OT, I am in the exact same position. Car needs $1000 repair... been dragging my feet for months. New handbag ~$2000? Can't pay fast enough. I am in serious need of an intervention!
