Socal - what are the measurements of your zippy? are you keeping all three colours?

Large zippy measurements...

17.5-18" across
8.5-9" high
5" deep

Handle drop is approximately 8".

Am 100% sure about keeping whiskey, 90% sure about blanc, and still 50/50 on noir (I keep trying it out...my winter stilettos look fine with all...my summer shoes look better with the whiskey and blanc...I haven't purchased any summer shoes yet that look good with the noir...something to think about...).

Hmph, has anyone ever ordered "next day" from BG? I placed the order yesterday am before the cut off time (according to customer service) and it should have been here today, and it didnt arrive . .

I'm so sad, was so excited. It's the blanc satchel....ugh. I would call customer service again, but hubby is home and he'd hear me. !

Thanks Lilygirl! Now I want to get them all . I saw the forest green hobo on the NM website. They say it's Dark Forest Green although it looks black to me...

i believe they stopped making the khaki color sometime last year. i attached some pictures of my khaki hobo. is that the color you're talking about?

that's not forest green, it's the khaki which is a greenish black (though i highly doubt that is the bag for sale on nm -- i'm sure it's the red, which is not the red pictured but the wine red)

Thanks Lilygirl! I guess NM misnamed it. On their listing it said to choose from that or the red, but when you click on the scroll down menu only the red shows up as an option.

Aw, I feel for you! I have to laugh at the hubby comment. How do you hide the bills from him? Sometimes I wish I had a husband again to keep my spending in line. I used to hate it when my ex-husband told me I "pissed my money away", but now, well, maybe I need to hear those words every now and again... My favorite line was "But it was on sale!"

What type of cracks? I'm asking because my whiskey Paddington has cracks in the paint or whatever it is that seals the leather seams along the handles and I can't decide if it is a problem or not. They aren't visible normally, but if you bend the handles you can see them.

Hmm ... the cracks on mine are definitely right on the handles and not the seams. It's visible even without bending the handles. Basically it looks like someone took a needle and nipped the handle couple of times.

I'm not married but the guy that I'm seeing tries to control my spending. However, whenever he starts b*tching I just tell him that I spent less in a year than he does and that the value of my stuff doesn't depreciate like his toys .

Thanks SoCal -- yep, checked there and under the arrive date it reads: 3-07-08. Oh well, I guess I'm just going to have to accept the fact that "next day" is really like 3 days.

This is good though in a way, hubby is going skiing tomorrow and will be gone overnight -- so I'll have 2 days to not stress out about FedEx ringing my doorbell and him questioning me about yet, more bags.

I do have a raging headache now from checking the front door every five minutes for about 4 hours in a row.

I think I hear a bottle of wine calling me. The waiting is killing me!

Lilygirl, is the taupe like tan?

i'm sure it's next day from the day they actually ship it -- it always takes time to process the order (especially since it's coming from a warehouse). barneys drives me crazy because even when i buy something directly from the store it takes a couple days for them to actually ship it. if you don't want dh to hear, use the bg online chat -- it's much better than talking to them in person.

Okay this has all been too funny...after an awful day of work it's nice to read what has been going on and the great debates of zippys v edith and bags v car repairs .... sorry mammab and nawth not receiving your goodies... perhaps it's a better reason to tip the glass than comtemplating the bills!

how disappointing and so sad- after waiting for my bag for almost 1 1/2 months, there is a stain on one of the handle and it might have to go back. it seems like the stain they use to finish the edges of the bag somehow probably dripped unto the handle. dh says you can't hardly tell but it bothers me. here's a pic. what should i do? this is from LVR.you have to click on the pic to enlarge and see the stain.

Some leather conditioner or a baby wipe might remove that. I have had great luck with Appleguard Leather Care. Another thing you might try is mild soap and warm water, taking care not to completely saturate the leather. Untreated leather has a tendency to dry darker, so if you find your efforts at removal has removed the stain but left a dark spot, gently stretch the leather in all directions and it will most likely start to lighten up and return to normal.

These are only suggestions. Without knowing what the stain is, I can't determine if it can be removed, but it's worth a try.

I agree with Roey, I would try to remove the stain. I understand that it bothers you. It would bother me too. If the stain doesn't come off and LVR can send you another one right away - then I'd return that one. However, if LVR can't replace it right away I might consider keeping it. (LVR should really inspect everything that they ship out! I have had such excellent luck with everything I've gotten from them).

If the stain is really from the paint or whatever the heck they use to seal the edges, you'll never get it off. My Blanc hobo has some "drips" here and there as well. and its on the handles; however, they are about the size of a pin head, maybe bigger. But I noticed them since the bag is white....(another thing to add to the list of issues w/the blanc hobo aside from the spray paint on the hardware and dinged up lock).

I would definitely send it back if that is what it is and demand an exchange or something and demand that the service be sped up since you've been waiting forever in the first place.

Or if you can live with it, how about a refund/discount? Do they do that?

More Questions

Hi ladies, I have one strange question and one normal question for you all. I'll ask the strange one first. I noticed that the bag I got from Nordstrom doesn't come with the round hangtag. In fact, it looks like the hangtag was cleanly snipped off from the tying string (whoever did it didn't even bother untying it, which is pretty easy). I called up Nordstrom to ask for a replacement tag and they said that all the bags in this particular shipment came without the round hangtags. Has anyone had similar experience? I just thought it's strange that they come without the round Chloe hangtags and that mine looks like it was cleanly snipped off with a pair of scissors.

My other question is about hobo vs. satchel. I'm torn right now between the satchel and the hobo. Ideally I want them both, but I'm trying to be "good". I'm looking for something I can use for work and play. I am not into big bags, I prefer bags that are more proportionate to my body. I'm 5"8' but rather twiggy-looking. A Speedy 30 or Kelly 32 is considered big on me (they look more like suitcases than handbags). So in your opinion, what should I go for? A satchel or hobo?
