koukanimaya, i can't imagine the metallic would wear off separately form the color -- i can't imagine they dyed the bag grey then applied some sort of metallic coating. whatever they used must have metallic throughout. so the only risk i see is the color flaking off altogether (kinda like the metallic silverados where the paint or whatever would peel off and you could see black underneath). when you mentioned the cracks in the handle of your first bag that's what i though happened.

Thanks Lilygirl!! You've been really helpful . With regards to the paint flaking off, is it something that gets worse over time? I'm concerned that the paint on my handle will flake more if I don't pay attention to it. Should I just return the satchel? Will Chloe fix something like this?

Taking a wild stab - I'd say silver for hobo and anthra for satchel. Pourquoi? because the hobo's details seem to get lost more in the tumble of slouchiness, so I think it needs a lighter color to really get the Paddy-POP (that's the only issue I have w/ my choc hobo tester). Although since the hobo looks bigger you might look like a junior ghostbuster I've seen the anthracite satchel IRL... that and seeing Nawth's pics I'd say you can't go wrong with that combo

Thanks blu_genie . I'm going to head off to Nordstrom after work today ... I think they said they have an anthracite and a silver available right now so I can try on both and see how they compare to my satchel. Knowing me, I'm probably going to end up buying them all.

I saw the taupe paddy IRL today (available at Chloe SCP...in fact, they have taupe, jaune/yellow, etc.).

It is a warm color, slightly tan, but lighter than the offical "tan"...

Just a quick streak through the site...I purchased the black/noir (darker I think than the earlier gray/black) paddy with a pocket today at Chloe SCP. I really like it...going to go out with her tonight. They have the small paddy/pocket in blanc, tan, whiskey, chocolate, and black (also saw the large in the dove grey pictured on LVR...really nice, but was "reserved"). Can't take photos tonight as I have company and don't need for them to think that I am insane with my camera in front of the mirror in the office/guest room... Will take photos later this weekend! Happy day!

i think the tapue looks nice too.

roey, i use baby wipes on everything including my balenciaga (it miraculously removed tomato sauce from my calcaire balenciaga). and sometimes i use them on the baby. which tan is gucci using for the horsebit? is it the original tan (like a cognac) or the tan from last season (which was more orange)? i loved the hazelnut and kicked myself for not getting it.

It is the cognac tan. The color is pretty. The bag is slouchy. The leather is . A friend warned me last year when I told her I was buying a large horsebit not to buy the tan because the leather has no texture and looks like a large sheet of vinyl. I trust her (She's a handbag queen.) so I ordered the black from BG. And there it sat for a almost a year in my handbag room, unused, since I always reached for the black Bal City.

Anyway, now that the tan is here and I went through all the trouble of an exchange with an absolutely delightful s/a, I cannot return this thing. I'll use it on the weekend when I dress like a bag lady. The color is great - but how can Gucci slap a $1490 price tag on this and call it leather? If I tried to ebay it I swear I would be accused of selling a fake! A long answer to a simple question... sorry Lily! The hazelnut color sounds nice!

Congrats to everyone on their new bags!! SoCal - you are killing me with all these new purchases. I am with envy. (I know that's a sick icon but it's the best I can do right now!)
