Chloe S/S 07 Paris

wow this is interesting!
there are some of the dresses here i LOVE!!... and some, not so much:lol:

There's nothing NOT to like about this collection but there's nothing to rave about either.... for some reason it feels like a very 'Milan' collection to me, not that looking like a Paris collection is important. It just feels a little tired and a bit too much like it's referencing very recent collections so it seems like you've seen it all before. I don't dislike it but it's not amazing.

It's nothing new but that doesn't mean I don't love it! :) Great dresses, and I like the bags too.

Love this dress:

^ Hmm, I agree but because of the colour palette I think.

Overall, i like it alot. and I especially love the dress on Gemma.

yes, its the Milan colours.. after all Ivan is getting ready for Gucci

i will agree that some looks are 'old' but there are so much many more 'fresh' lines/shapes there, its unfair to see this as 'stuck' cause it isnt really

I think its so incredibly sexy, I would Love to see a confident woman in and out of these clothes...

I like the more tailored, "stiffer" look. Quite tired wiith the flowing pleats...

I dont really like most of this, that particular palette is something i secretly hope for designers NOT to use in their collections, it's awful, unflattering and just boring. i dont like the skirts, nor the dresses...however, the look on snejana with the shorts and the trench coat is what i'd rescue from what's been posted so far...it looks lovely.

completely agree! ^_^

..all in all, i'm terribly dissappointed. a lot of this looks like the ripoffs of the earlier collections that you can already buy in h&m and the like. i had hoped for something new and fresh.

i love the masculinity of some of the pieces
the whole thing feels very whimsical and english which i like
but the colours are like bad 70s wallpaper..
all the girls look really beautiful

i know some people detest the prints but i find them very cute.

can anyone else see the Cacherel influence?

 I don't think I could be more disappointed than I am right now :(

Honestly guys, had this collection been shown by a new designer, without the chloe tag on it, would you give it a second look?

review from style.com

PARIS, October 7, 2006 – Since Chloé is waiting for a new designer—Paulo Melim from Marni— to arrive, the spring show was necessarily a case of keeping the brand in a holding pattern. That considered, the team did a respectably unadventurous job of keeping the best-selling items warm: fragile blouses, short Empire dresses and, of course, the shoes and bags. The theme, according to the notes, was Gloria Vanderbilt, which apparently was indicated in log-cabin patchworks (her personal hobby) and that peculiarly seventies palette of ochre, brown, and purple. Meanwhile, there's no change to report in the silhouette, and no news that moved Chloé on from the template set by Phoebe Philo some while ago. The thing this middling collection illustrated best is the gulf between imaginative design and just designing a line. Let the first go, and you are no longer in a leadership position and, in this instance, heading toward the territory occupied, at a lower price point and with more spirit, by Marc by Marc Jacobs. With the best will in the world, this is not the sort of thing people come to Paris to see.
