Well I think this is far better than the s/s06, and fw0607
but it is so repetitive, I cannot believe
it seems like they are doing the same thing, just because they don't have an established designer
Since Philo got pregnant, the brand started to melt down I think

I think the girly boho hippie chic...kinda 70's students...it is the best image for Chloe...they should developed that...

I saw the entire collection and it looks much better than what this thread anticipated for me. I think i love it, the details seem perfect and definitely more interesting than anything chloe before. it's a very quiet collection, nothing spectacular but lovely nonetheless. ^_^

love the black trousers :ninja:

I really miss Phoebe and the special touch her talent brought to the house.:( I hated pre-Pheobe Chloe and was so glad when she became head designer. There are some lovely pieces in this collection but overall its uninspired. The design team is following a formula that they seem afraid to add anything to.

this collection just doesn't do it for me :ninja: there may be a few pieces of it that i like, but otherwise, this seventies look is so dated. the embellishments and this school-girl look is monotonous. the colors are tired. i could go on...

hmmm...

i think this collection is a bit of a shame really... its like you really were cheering for the design team to carry on without Phoebe and still do great things - new shapes etc but it seemed so tired this time the babydoll dresses etc. and the colours are seriously going too far down the path of ugly 70's colour palletes.

imo not even cute getting to be an eyesore - you would look at someone a bit strange if they walked down the street in this.

more positive though - i liked some of the separate pieces - some of the jackets and the detail on the applique/ embroidery dresses were gorgeous if only for the amount of work put in. Oh and of course bags were cute - shoes should never be worn

... i hope they change direction next season...

whoa 60's wallpaper clothes. some pieces are nice but others are like oy vey!

its one of the more wearable and pretty collections out of paris, im not feeling that whole terminator 2 / 80s hooker thing , but as some one mentioned before the chloe girl is always partly trapped in the 70s , phoebe played on that and modernized it , I hope the new designer taps even more into that and bring out sexy cute clothes. My fav collection of chloe was S/S 2004 with the high waisted bf jeans and s/s 2005 with those killer dresses, in blue and green. Chloe needs to get that sexiness back , without comprimising its innocence.

I love that s/s 04 collection, too. You said it! I agree completely .the look of chloe for 3-4 seasons is too much "girly" .I'm sick of this school-girl look

review from style.com

PARIS, October 7, 2006 – Since Chloé is waiting for a new designer—Paulo Melim from Marni— to arrive, the spring show was necessarily a case of keeping the brand in a holding pattern. That considered, the team did a respectably unadventurous job of keeping the best-selling items warm: fragile blouses, short Empire dresses and, of course, the shoes and bags. The theme, according to the notes, was Gloria Vanderbilt, which apparently was indicated in log-cabin patchworks (her personal hobby) and that peculiarly seventies palette of ochre, brown, and purple. Meanwhile, there's no change to report in the silhouette, and no news that moved Chloé on from the template set by Phoebe Philo some while ago. The thing this middling collection illustrated best is the gulf between imaginative design and just designing a line. Let the first go, and you are no longer in a leadership position and, in this instance, heading toward the territory occupied, at a lower price point and with more spirit, by Marc by Marc Jacobs. With the best will in the world, this is not the sort of thing people come to Paris to see.

– Sarah Mower

Is it the team that is designing this collection? Someone said it is Yvan Mispelaere...but the review says Chloe is waiting for Paulo Melim??

I   so much the interesting beads they add to the garments:woot:

I'm a little disappointed, but I like most of the looks, even though it's not quite my style ^_^

the collection looks good (but I'm not really excited!) the style is cool, too. but what the f*** with these 70s-grandmother-flower-wallpaper prints!? it's horrible!! and why do those people want us to feel like in autumn in summer??!! why?!

I totally agree -- the color combos seem all wrong for spring/summer. I also think a lot of the shapes and proportions are very predictable. Not a strong show in my opinion.

This collection is giving me headache. It's stuffy and too old fashion. Not the lightness I come to associate with Chloe!
