Chloe Sevigny

I've watched her acceptance speech about 54 times now. I was also able to watch the show live, and went completely berserk with Awesome when her win was announced. :D I think just about every muscle in my body went all stiff and shaky, that's how excited I was. And I, for one, loved her speech, including that dress rip quip to the usher. Some people have commented online, saying that she was rude in making a note of it, but what else was she going to do? She was nervous, excited, and of all times at the moment of her first ever Golden Globe win, someone manages to step on her dress and rip it. Man, I loved the quip, so funny.

I was also so happy to see her so obviously excited about winning. I thought she was surprisingly composed, but you could see she was clearly breathless with psyched-ness. Also, did you guys see Jeanne Tripplehorn, how moved she was by Chloë's win and speech?

What an amazing night. Totally worth staying up for.
You said everything that I was thinking!

Apparently, the manner in which she said it irked some people. They're even dragging in Haiti, for some reason, in the sense that, "How could she whine about her dress when there's a disaster going on in Haiti?" Honestly, I fail to see the connection between her quip and the Haiti tragedy, but... ooo-kay.
She won a well deserved award! Not everyone wants to constantly feel down about the tragic things that have happened. They should be celebrating the lives that have been saved and the World coming together for them. I don't see anything wrong with celebrating their achievements for all of their hard work.

People are always going to find a reason to dislike poor Chloe if they already don't like her. She was obviously nervous and excited and surprised. Then someone ripped her dress! She didn't act all that different than anyone else, she was kind of having a "WTF" moment, if you will, everything happening all at once. She had also probably been drinking. She didn't even say anything that bad, really! She didn't swear she was just sort of in disbelief that it happened!

Haters will hate, I think Chloe is wonderful and I'm so glad she won, finally.

LolaSvelt, I watched that video you posted. Chloe definitely had a drink or two (or four) beforehand.

And OMG, I want those Miu Miu strappy sandals. :crush:

I can't believe that people think that she was being diva-ish.
She is real and natural and her manner is dry, which often goes over the dull heads of the hollywood press.

Naturally she looked incredibly stylish and completely herself.

I hope that this award means that we will see Chloe getting some more quality roles-roles that we all know she deserves, but I guess awards act as a kind of security/currency to film studios.

Do you think this means we'll be seeing her in Alexander Wang soon? I hope they had a nice talk.

Chloe Sevigny departing LAX Airport - January 19, 2010 (tlfan.to).

She looks so good! I worry about the borderline mom-ness of her jeans but she looks so fab.

:lol: at that video lolasvelt posted. ''There are so many cute men around, especially the one from avatar...'' haha

I just saw the acceptance speech and I didnt think it was a big deal. All the online comments were a bit over the top. I would also be pissed if someone ripped my dress. Especially since its most likely borrowed and you have to give it back in one piece!!!

^ Agree, but that's what people tend to use the internet for. It breeds negativity. Let's just ignore haters and enjoy all the pictures. :)

i don't think her acceptance speech was bad at all. i think she said the thing about "i can't believe he just ripped my dress" because she wanted to make sure the audience knew she didn't just scream out of nowhere. her speech was like any other nervous, apprehensive speech.

Anyone know where I can see a video of the acceptance speech? Apparently her dress went see through on stage too? Im not some dirty perv, not the reason Im asking haha!

Here's the speech:

This is the first time I've seen it since I saw it on Golden Globes night before all the hoop-la about what she said. She said it in a joke-y way. She has very dry humour, too. Of course the masses would overreact like that and mention Haiti.

Also someone I know described her a dress as a vagina. I'm starting to kind of see that. It's a very beautiful vagina.

Oh and does she not get on with Bill Paxton? She seems to ignore him when she goes up to pick her award and she mentions her two 'wives', but not Bill!
