Christian Dior Cruise 2026 and Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Rome

Well I had goosebumps! This was the first time that I felt an emotion in something that she did for Dior. Thanks to Matteo Garrone… but the clothes were ethereal and perfect and the fact that you could see the details makes it more beautiful! It definitely sounded like a swansong… maybe I’m biased by that and I wanna be kind to her, but I really liked it

Looking at the live videos of some journalists that are watching it now in the classical runway mode, is so boring and with terrrible music, so thank you again Matteo Garrone for saving the situation!

Felt like cosplay.. definitely her last one. That is her Dior Womens team posing to do the checkups of the looks in the film before the models take their walk, the credits are quite long and with a very final thanks to Delphine Arnault, all the Dior atelier and workshops, all the Dior Communication teams, and certain core members of Dior management.

So it was half RTW and half Haute Couture? The last looks were HC apparently, which made sense as most of this collection was gowns. What was bizarre though was the amount of Valentino-esque gowns that she showed in this collection. I swear some of them were replicas of some Pierpaolo looks but in beige and white?

Anyway does this mean this really is her last show and Haute Couture will be done by Jonathan in July?

Sorry, but now looking it in detail I like it less.
All these stripes always hanging, the same twenty variations around a simple idea, the unfortunate trompe-l'oeil in the last looks...
I thought it was a nice swansong but maybe is just another MGC collection.

there are some nice looks here. the white tailored ensembles are the strongest. the rest is absolutely unmemorable.

Look 73 is lovely and a departure from her usual silhouettes and embroidery (I am ignoring the shoe)

Looking back at the absolute eurotrash horror of her first few collections, she really did improve by the end and this collection’s a good capstone of MGC’s tenure: conservative, pretty, romantic, comfortable, flattering, beige, not much to say in separates or anything new really since Valentino and better for it because her occasional experiments like that asymmetrical dress towards the end are eyesores.

That grin at the end of the runway tells me whatever happened she won in the end. I am hoping that means she got a settlement big enough to retire with but when have we ever been so lucky…
