great collection :D i absolutely love the prints (especially in the dresses) and those asian inspired pieces he presented at the beginning of the show. i'm just not too happy about the short dresses (too much like what he did before) and those shiny leather (or whatever that material is called) pants in the first pic.

but after the couture disappointment (imo) this was a welcome return for galliano :D

i like the blue and yellow dresses  but those pants are :x really trashy IMO

I love those oversized coats and some bags seem cute too :o !

I don't know. I'm just tired. Tired of seeing the same from John. Every season I half-expect him to drop this overdone Orient Express world tour fantasy but he doesn't. It's sad, because I really adore his work but this is just too much for me.

That said, I'm really in love with that voluminous shearling/leather jacket that was posted. Get me on the list!

I kinda agree with you ,Chick.Wonder when he will stop this too :?

being personally one of the biggest  galliano fans
i'm bored to said this but i'm more&more disenchanted by his latest collections as for dior(H/C&RTW)as for his own label
why is he losted in this opium den  ??????????
geishagirl in cry

i agree as well. galliano needs to quit dior. dior is not a spanish catholic extravanganza of a line. it is french. BIG difference. his lines make me feel like i am watching joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat. and i swear, his spring collection was by far the worst. making dior the house of Denim [of all things] is a travesty!!!!!!!

in my opinion, galliano should work in costume design... he is so suited for it. i guess i have a problem of keeping houses open after a designer has died and the essence of a line is lost on "new" talents with new "ideas". i don't like the reopening of established labels. i know fashion is a business... but really, does dior need to be "fashion" forward???? it leaves new designers nothing to work towards unless they have immediate and huge corporate and social backing or are engulfed by an old regime.

personally i totally agree with you but as it was said fashion is busine$$$
and it's supposed to make money(that's true but i'm not happy to say this)
dior in particular way generate a buches of $ since galliano is in

i think what i am really saddened by is that i remember what galliano used to do. i mean, could the man make any more stunning clothing? his early lined for dior and even his own were art works. i really am not into the rave culture that he has been appropriating on different levels. street fashion is a necessary influence... but some styles can be left out.

some of it is lovely. the first 2 tops for example. and the bag :o want that  but, i have to agree with everyone. im a HUGE galliano fan, but im a bit tired of the "orient express" [ how chick put it  ] :| i want to see something fresh and new from galliano......if he keeps this up..... :( BUT i do really like the collection. its just the theme i am growing tired of. the first dress in the fifth row

here are some pics that i like----- 8)

  very well said, pearsandapples!

i do like the little baguettes and the sheer blue kimono. makeup is a little frightening.

i wonder if he saw "Spirited Away" last year. check out the character Kaonashi!!

[ot:8772554fc4]Gwen Stefani backstage w/friend. She's gorgeous and I would kill for that jacket.

there are more wearable pieces than you think.. i think the styling makes it look more OTT.

Yeah, I do agree. If you look at it piece by piece there are some things there I would actually wear.

I just figured out what this makeup was reminding me of! The mommy dearest movie where joan crawford is in her white face mask screaming at her daughter and making her scrub the floor!!

I do like some of the pieces ... and I clap to Galliano cuz he's not boring ... I mean ... if you see a girl in the street wearing some of his latest pieces you effortlessly say "Its Dior" ... I mean ... at least this collection its wearable!

I  this beautiful collection.

Has anyone seen the show video?

I don't think I'd love Galliano as much if he weren't over the top...

that said, however, his collections always feel like an exercise in his celebrity...that is, it's difficult to separate the man from the collection, more so with him than with many other designers (which can be either a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it...but that is a whole complex artistic issue that I am too tired to go into right now :P )

but that's Galliano's appeal to me...his persona...

the short dresses are hot hot hot and could always be practicalized by wearing with pants...the dresses in general are just beautiful

I thought the makeup was breathtaking albeit not-wearable
