Christian Dior Haute Couture F/W 05 Paris

Fantastic collection and presentation. It's still soaking in, of course. Such vision and craftsmanship. The hautest of couture.

I was never a fan of Dior...But i must say the collection is breathe taking...

I like this show. Incredible improvement on previous couture collection. I like these two pieces are very Andean, I wanna say Ecuadorian, complete with the peasant hats. Incroyable. Can't wait until tommorow or midnight maybe?

they remind me of the dresses woman wear to a party in celebration of the virgin called la tirana, well, john came to south america!

The presentation and detail is stunning.

The carriage, smoke, and everything is amazing.

Great show, the collection is very inticate and pulled through. Alot of creativity and thought went into this!

a bit more... i´ve just read there are 43 looks in total:

I really love the nude dresses...gorgeous!

The rest is creative and lovely...yet not relatable.

That set is so very Bram Stoker's Dracula!

Ze children of ze night, wat wondeful couture zey maaake?

The nude dresses are very nosferatu - I wonder what will be done with them if they ever sell?

nonsferatu indeed your highness :D

*guys please dont repost pictures cause we will need to edit,
much appreciated :flower:

i love the setting. couture seems more suited for something like that than a basic runway.

Very true, very true. The set seems like something out of a Disney movie! Which brings me to how I can't imagine anybody actually wearing these... not even to a big celebrity event.

This collection has no in-betweens. You either hate it or you love it.

is not that i disagree with what you say, but john re makes the dresses in wearable versions for the lucky few tha can afford them, so this is the trend in its purest way!

This is SO beautiful! It's just magical...the setting, the clothes...everything. Yay for Galliano!! :ninja:

Aha, that would make sense j'adore dior. Thanks for clearing that up:wink:

I dont usually like dior HC but this collection i think i can say i like it, the setting, the dresses and gowns all go together well in his theme. I like the nude dresses in the beginning.

Are they wearing like hip cushions or something?? Because the models hips look quite abnormally large..

This is definately a show that will never be forgotten...

I can't get over the setting. It's almost as if I enjoy the setting more than the clothes- its so extravagent, like a dream.

Some of the corsets under the sheer black dresses do look like they have a panier.

And I must add to the growing mumber of people who love those sheer black dresses, they are so very beautiful. Overall, I'm getting a bit of an airy vibe from this collection, there seems to be a lot of very sheer fabrics (tulle of course) and an emphasis on movement, even if the fabric is meant to look like it's moving without actually doing so (see the deconstructed couture gowns with mannequin under-pinnings)....the fabric just seems to have a life of it's own.
