Draqs have always been big in his collections....like his s/s collextion for 2003 for his own label....it was actually partially inspired by Trojan, a famous draq from London's clubbing scene....

P.S. Brian check your PM-inbox.....:P
it was inspired by leigh bowery and trojan :flower:
leigh primarily.
and they weren't drag queens, but "walking modern art" as i once read someone describe them :P

There was A LOT of stumbling and wobbling. It makes me like the clothes less.

-------------

i love the collection, im not bothering to read the entire thread (and i dont care, mwahaha :ninja: ), but i love it... the 18th has been always my favorite century

So now we've come full circle back to ' drag queens ' , :P

AWFULLY SORRY , ' figures of walking modern art ' no less !!!

At least Leigh Bowery and Trojan ( God rest their souls ) were famous for their nightly ORIGINALITY , no matter HOW long the process of self reinvention of their appearance took .

And it did NOT cost millions of dollars to produce .

If only Galliano had raided his local Woolworths and Oxfam shops , perhaps he would have come up with something nearer to genuine originality !!!

KIT :innocent:

Now I understand why I dont like the collection. Because you cant wear it... Where would you wear it? To the carnival? The problem is that he creates clothes for expressing his artist point of view. But fashion has allways been created to not just express, but to make the clothes wearable. I think that this is his weak point. :innocent:

OMG...i'm watching the show...now...what a disaster...

the only thing these dresses are good for is posing for a picture...

good recovery by erin... :innocent:

poor john...*snicker... :P

with his little strut down the catwalk...(i'm too sexy   )

you just KNOW he expected a standing ovation..!!!...hahaha!!!...
and what's with the two suited bodyguards shadowing him as he did his little jig?!?!...
to hold back the throngs of groupies and adoring fans i presume?!?!?!?!???,,,

AHAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA................................

and again....

AAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

:P

I got a kick out of Galliano's strut. I thought it was cute. :P

This purple dress is totally wearable and I love it.

yeah, it was really pathetic. No good.

so...have we figured out what was with the nude bustiers?!?!>>>

did galliano want the dresses to expose the breasts?...and if so...then why not just EXPOSE THEIR BREASTS?!?!?!.......probably because then most magazines and tv channels could not run the photos...

how lame...making a point to go all out with the couture...but then taking a step back with the nudity to cow to commerciality...

LAME.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............  :yuk:

About the music, the instrumental parts of it were really nice. But the rest I hardly liked

I was having the same thot about the nude bustier!!!!

I think it would be alot more romantic if he chooses to expose the breast!!!! :P

Lol, have you noticed that when Adina comes on the catwalk...at first she's going rather fast but then some people drop her coat and suddenly she slow down a LOT! :P

have we already forgotten the furor caused by janet jackson's one nipple? i think that a much as galliano would want, there's no way lvmh would allow such a show. the nude bustiers SCREAM corporate tampering not a new galliano-style prudishness (remember galliano was the king of the completely sheer gown there for a while at dior)...

and it's not about being commercial...bc i can guarantee that far more people would be downloading this show on the internet (style.come would never be able to handle the number of hits) if they knew it was fifteen minutes of dangling breasts.... :innocent:

This is off topic.. but i read somewhere that Victoria Secret is not doing a fashion show this year due to the Janet nipple waldrobe malfunction.. that is so ridiculous!!!! people should grow up ... its a nipple.. GEEEZZ!! What Galliano presented was fine with the nude bustiers.. its EXPLORING THE BOUNDARIES OF FASHION!!! far-out this whole "nudity is the devil" thing pisses me off so much!
