Christopher Esber S/S 2025 Paris

While this collection is not as strong as previous collections have been and I could do without the majority of it, this skirt/top set/dress is definitely on my wishlist. A few of the shoes were also gorgeous.

This is exactly how it feels, even sloppy like someone mentioned (those towel inspired looks are not good). It's sad, because this is his second collection showing at PFW (first one was also not strong overall) and the guy is genuinely talented and endlessly creative, he's no one-trick pony. I've been rooting for him for many years and wishing he steps up his game and polishes up his label that has offered true much needed fashion jewels in the past. To be fair, it's not an easy time to be a small, independent fashion brand.

I wanna support a local Aussie designer in Paris, but for a debut collection it looks pretty amateur and certainly rushed. Even the colours used in here look like an afterthought. It's a shame, because previous collections from him have been pretty decent and strong, albeit a tad reductive with the obvious references but it felt honest and slicker.

Hopefully though the misstep is more to do with them adapting to the scale of an internationally held show and not just a demise in collection quality. I'd like to see him in Paris again, but not if it looks like this.
