Classic evening shoes

I am a big lover of flats, and looking through my shoe collection, I seem to have collected an inordinate amount of ballet flats in all assortment of designs.

But I would really like to buy a pair of classic evening shoes, I'm thinking black, leather heels of some description, and wondered, if you could only buy one pair of evening heels, in a timeless design, what would they be?

Round toe pumps? Patent points? Platforms? White furry Uggs?...

i think a pair of black patent louboutins is the way to go, really in any style...the pigalle and decolette come to mind
