Actually Fleur's wedding gown is NOT MCQUEEN at all. It was designed by a woman named JANY TEMIME who has been the costume designer for all of the Harry Potter films. Her inspiration was the phoenix, rebirth, and eternal love. The movies almost never use anything from other designers. In fact I'm pretty sure there's even an interview with Jany Temime posted in this thread, I think its page 58, that is all about the dress. Sorry, just wanted to make sure we're giving proper credit to the correct person because that gown is truly a one of a kind work of art!

I just want to see the movie NOW! I bought my tickets for the midnight screening today! I still hate the way they've minimized Fleur's role so much in the films. I especially missed her in HBP! Between completely leaving out Fleur/Bill, ruining the big Harry/Ginny kiss, cutting out the battle at the end, and no funeral for Dumbledore I think HBP was hands down the worst adaptation yet! Don't get me wrong as simply a movie it was good, but as an adaptation of the book it was an utterly butchered mess. So far DH seems like they're staying on track and doing a much better job sticking to the book.

I just find it too suspicious how similar the bird theme of the lace is on it to the one designed by Jany Temime. I find it hard to believe that two designers came up with such similar ideas for bird themed black lace without one being inspired by the other. Its too a big a coincidence. I know they filmed the wedding scene for DH a little over a year ago so she would have designed the dress several months before that.

I'm kind of late to this debate but although the color looks good on her I much prefer the lighter blonde. It made look so etherical.

Her "new" hair is actually closer to what she had up until the last year or so, when she bleached it lighter, if you look at older pics.

I much prefer the dark blonde/light brown. I was a bit disappointed when she bleached it lighter; too common these days.

Yeah Jenny Packham worked with Jany Temime to design all the wedding dresses for Fleur, Hermione, Ginny, and Luna.

IF the world is expecting luxury fashion labels to be one of the hardest hit financially in the coming months, another business to have side-stepped a downturn is Jenny Packham's - after she showed her spring/summer collection in London last September one of her biggest fans was so desperate to buy one of the not-for-sale show pieces that they offered £20,000 for it, right there, right then.

"We were quite sad to see it go, considering it was the only one of its kind, but we couldn't not sell it!" Packham laughed.

The recession, says Jenny, forces designers to work more "on the ground" than they have been before. "We've had two events in Harrods which have been great successes," she explained. "Customers love it if we're actually there helping them shop the collection. Plus you have to be more proactive in working closely with your stockists and understanding their market."

And if not in Harrods, watch out for more of Packham's designs on the silver screen soon. "The dresses that we made for Casino Royale were such fantastic press," she says. "One was used in the ads and was on screen for sometime - the other hit the floor before you knew it, but they both garnered lots of attention which was great."

"At the moment we're designing some dresses for the next Harry Potter film - it's not always easy as we have to remember that they're for people playing children, so we have to be swayed by the costume directors rather than our fashion taste, but it's really exciting to be involved."

So, it sounds like Jany and Jenny worked together.

Clemence looks gorgeous in the wedding dress regardless of who designed it though. Absolute perfection. I can't wait to see some high quality shots.
