Comme Des Garçons

thanks for explaining about teiban...
:flower:

i'm really quite curious about what kind of comme ties you have...
i really can't remember ever seeing any ties in the cdg store...
but i could have easily overlooked them, i guess...
:P

it's not like I check every single corner of the CdG store every season (though I used to do in the 90's), but I think they still have ties sometimes.
what I have for example is something that might look solid dark blue but subtle regimental stripes depending on the angle.
maybe it's from SS 95. the mainline CdG, womenswear, too had some that season if I remember rightly.

comme ties here if you're interested

what she was wearing on monday september 7th (probably at aoyama headquarters)

great pic...thanks runner~!
she is SO cool...

thanks also for the link to the ties...
the one you describe sounds really good...
i love it when things look like one thing but then look a bit different from close up or a different angle...
subtlety is always elegant...

i'm curious, runner...
are you like me? do you keep things in your wardrobe for many years and wear your favorites year after year?...
or sometimes put them away for some time and take them back out again when the time feels right?

what is your philosophy in this area, please?

I have two walk-in closets although both are small rooms. one is a bit like a retail space (or old-fashioned showroom, since it's not that neat), that is, everything is out, hanging, piled, etc, and nothing is put away/stored up. it is not crowded. there are some pieces that are always in it, but it tends to be in some seasonal use, even if it winds up like that naturally, rather than it goes with philosophy.
the other is like a storage where things are protected in some ways so that they don't gather dust and don't get moth-eaten. items like ties are in it where it is the least easy to take them out.

she looks so different with the shorter hair!
i never would have recognized her...
...
i guess it's good for an actress to be able to change her look like that...

i love that first outfit in the switch story and i really like the composition of the last one...
thanks for the pics, runner...

yes it's sakura ando. also she (along with her big sister) currently appears on the uniqlo commercial. although we happen to see her like that this season, it's not an obvious casting. many japanese still don't know who she is ( and what love exposure is either).

btw, I don't know what it's like over there regarding uniqlo campaign, if it's the same or completely different. but we get to see joe casely-hayford ( and his son ) too frequently on TV right now.

Which reminds me: a school acquaintance got CDG Play sneakers from one of her school friends for her birthday. :o

i was trying to think about whether i have ever seen a uniqlo ad on tv...
i really can't remember any...
i don't watch regular network television very often, so maybe there is something there, but i don't think so...

very interesting to know what is on japanese tv and ads...
thanks dear!

the tricot top is good...

thanks for posting it and for these other shots of sakura ando...
*that must be one of those famous japanese deer i have seen on nhk which are so friendly...
sweet~!

:flower:...

so cool to see rei at work...
it's amazing that she still has such passion, even if that pic is from a few yrs back...

*funny to see her with that grey cashmere wrap/shawl...
i don't think i've ever seen her in anything but black or black/white...
i like it!...
^_^...

arigato runner dear...

kind of surprised to find that there is now a website for the cdg universe...
i remember awhile back that rei's husband said that there probably never would be...
not if rei got her way...
i guess they finally convinced her!

...

it's certainly different that what we are used to...
the navigation is not straightforward...
i actually like it...
it's more like a gallery...
there is a section of work by ai wei wei that i quite like...
*not sure if that's a permanent thing or if they will rotate featured artists in that space...

anyway...here is is...though i should probably put it in the cdg universe thread...
http://www.comme-des-garcons.com/index.html

i went to the nyc comme des garcons market sale last weekend...
and i got....

nothing!!!...~~!!!...
...

not a single thing...
i was hoping to find sneakers, but there wasn't anything that i wanted...
^_^...

i wasn't even disappointed...
in fact, i was sort of relieved...
:P
