Comme des Garcons Collection Pictures from the 1990's

I need information:-) I remember seeing a picture from a Comme show, where Nadja (or Linda) was wearing a white bridal gown under a pinstriped suit. But I can't remember the year. It was around 94-95. I saw the firstview pics from 95, a few bridal stuffs there, but nothing like I remember:-P

It was in a british newspaper. There used to be a special addition when fashion weeks took place, a lot of review, ranking... Do you know anything about this? Thank you for help:-)

sorry nqth that doesn't ring any bells with me.....

I came accross this picture and thought it might be the one you were looking for ?

From the book Unlimited: Comme des Garçons
Not dated but I think it might be from a/w 91/92...

I remember eagerly waiting for this style supplement when I was a student ! I believe it was from the Int. Herald Tribune ? ...I wish I has saved them :(

Thank you soo much. It must be the one that I asked you about. Beautiful:-)

I can't believe that I was interested in Comme so early:-)

thanks for bringing this thread back - this stuff is amazing and i'm getting so many ideas for things to make :woot:

grey, you mentioned towards the beginning of this thread that you threw a wool blazer into the wash to shrink it a la comme...did you ever do anything with it?

this was on my list of things to do when i was there a few weeks ago and i didn't get to  kicking myself now!

i have in my posession dvds with comme's collections from 1980-2000. i've been behaving like an uber-dork, you know, pausing and sketching the outfits painstakingly. i'll have to post a few.

it was a gift from a friend. she got the collection from yahoo auctions japan.

yep...
i have it...it looks good...:D...
but the wool is sooo itchy that i don't wear it often...
also...it's brown tweed/check...and we all know how much i wear brown...
...
thanks for reminding me about it...
i will have to make an effort to wear it now...

went to that exhibit with a couple of other tfs-ers bird of paradise...
thought it was great as well...
then went to a consignment store in the lower east side that specializes in vintage japanese designers (it's called YU)...
and they had some of the polyester organzas for sale...
it was so cool to see it at the exhibit and then be able to touch it and turn it inside out to see how it's made, etc...

* i highly recommend that show!!...
it's really well done...
much better than the average fashion exhibit...

travolta you luck devil......
please post whatever you can....
thanks!!!...
:woot:...

Oh softgrey you just threw it in a washing machine? I have a blk wool jkt I wanted to do so but ppl said it will look like a shapeless anything. Please tell me any trick how to do it safe. (Please remember that this is my one and only jkt:-P)

this thread is simply exquisite. thanks everyone for keeping it rolling!

I'm not sure if this was from 80's or 90's. I scanned it from a book along time ago, can't remember the name for it unfortunately:innocent:

it WILL lose some of its shape...
that is what i liked...
but it will also most likely shrink...even in cold water...
so if you don't want that...
don't do it...!!...

mine was originally a bit big and now it is 'shrunken'...
but it looks good that way...

:p

Thanks:-) I want to boil it but my biggest fear is that it will "shrink pernamently" to XXXS:-) I need XS-S and the jkt is now slightly big and long on me. Maybe I should try in cold water first. I'd love the "wrinkled boiled wool":-P
