Do you remember the days when women - of any age - could be seen on the cover of US Cosmo, wearing something simple and sexy, with hair flowing free, and it be a wonderful sight, not some mish-mash of photoshop and unfortunate angles for the face?

It's actually nice seeing women of all ages on Cosmo this year!

Yes! And this does not embody that at all. I love SJP and I think she looks great at her age.. the Cosmo team just executed the cover poorly. The pose looks contrived. I would've gone with a simple shot of her smiling and enjoying. There's just a disconnect. A power pose with a simple makeup and a simple dress matched with that hair.. it just doesn't connect for me. I would've had her smiling, being relaxed and just enjoying.

It would appear Joanna is trying to shift her readers perception of age. Or trying to court the mature women which the magazine alienated with all those teenybopper covers. Cosmo is the last magazine I'd have imagined SJP to appear on, so kudos to Cole. This reminds me a bit of those late 90's/early 00's covers with Shania, Renee Z and Nicole K. Women who always seemed a bit high brow for Cosmo, but ended up fitting their aesthetic. I like the soft colours and flowing hair, and didnt even know she was so.....breasty.

“The only times we ever broke up were when I was relapsing, whether it was drugs or in a bad place and rebelling against everybody, not just him… People say that relapses happen before you use.
