Cosmopolitan - Worldwide

Cosmo's cover choices are so random these days. Yes, Jennifer Hudson is extremely talented and accomplished, but she's not the first celebrity i would think to be on Cosmo's radar in 2017?
I would love to see them experiment with model covers or go back to their 2000s era and do a new Britney Spears cover, remember when she was on Cosmo constantly? The fans would go crazy, and those V100 cover and Marie Claire UK covers prove she's still working it. If you follow Cosmo's EIC on Instagram she constantly puts up photos of vintage back issues...

Agreed, Jennifer is too good for this brand! She should be getting Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, since Harper's Bazaar and Instyle don't care for black women on their covers.

Insta models and VS angels would be a perfect choice for Cosmo in this era. I'm not sure if any of the teens/millenials are interested in Scarlett, Miley (apart from die-hard fans), Ruby Rose and others US Cosmo features. My teen sister is interested in Gigi, Josephine Skr, Emrata, Cara, Stella Maxwell and girls like that, so she usually acknowlegdes when they are on a magazine cover. She did even buy some of the mags Gigi and Cara were covering (Numero, VP...). And Cosmo costs less.
Anyway I bet there's a better photo of J. Hudson that could have been used. However I don't see her being reprinted everywhere around the globe like Miley was in September/October unfortunately.

Looking good and very season appropriate! Lovely coliuours and I hope the fur is faux.

This is actually the coolest Cosmo cover i've seen in ages - it's everything a Cosmo cover should be - fun and not taking itself too seriously. Feels like a while since we've seen Megan, I distinctly remember her last Cosmo cover when she wearing that Michael Kors print suit that was worn by at least three other celebs for covers.

Agreed! Megan for me is so perfect for this brand. I like that she's not trying to be Vogue or indie. Her best cover yet was for British Harper's years back, but this one comes close.

COSMOPOLITAN AUSTRALIA DECEMBER 2017: ROBYN LAWLEY

from Robyn Lawley's Instagram.

Thoughts? If you look back at how Australian magazines have styled Robyn in the past, they always seem to channel Elle Macpherson so blatantly it's basically a tribute, and this feels the same. Still, i like that they went for something a bit more retro and creative, they've had some extremely dull covers this year.

I think she looks nice, but I've seen her better styled. Robin intrigues me because I think she in theory paved the way for Ashley and Candice, and got completely sidelined afterwards. Ashley was just lucky to have a PC narrative at a point when fashion went fiercely PC. It wasnt herwas looks which made her blow up like this. I think Robin is definitely more modelesque in terms of looks than Ashley.

Crystal shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as these girls because she's on another level entirely.

Agreed on every word. where´s Crystal anyways?

I also cringe at the fact Robyn is constantly referred to as a 'plus size' model, when she's so not plus size, her figure would only be slightly larger than say Kate Upton, who is never referred to as plus size. I just find that whole distinction so ridiculous.

wonder why they recycled the Zendaya cover pose? The cover fonts, layout and styling looks very messy.

COSMOPOLITAN MIDDLE EAST DECEMBER 2017: CARLY RAE JEPSEN

from Cosmopolitan Middle East's Instagram.

I mentioned this shoot in the cover rumour thread, quite surprising that it's out already because the shoot was done very very recently, it must have gone literally straight to press! Cosmo Middle East mostly rely on reprints for their covers so it's quite a big deal to nab an international celeb. I don't think the styling is particularly good but it's a reasonable result. It also highlights the evolution of Carly's look, especially compared to her American Cosmo cover from circa 2012.

I didn't know the above girl until I read the line, thanks for that Cosmo Middle East. And now I find it somewhat comical that a staunchly Middle Eastern fashion ('m being liberal here) magazine braved with a one-hit-wonder cover star who gave the world THE gay anthem of 2012/2013. At first I thought it was Michelle Williams superimposed on a young Hillary Clinton. Terrible styling.

The Hailey Steinfeld cover looks exceedingly juvenile. Something that will appeal to the Seventeen reader - sex tags included.

I don't know whether that US Cosmo cover is aimed at adolescents or adults.

I'm really disgusted with this cover. All their (US Cosmo) covers are so messy, artificial and look disconnected when in a row. There's no consistency in layout and fonts.

On the other hand, my local Serbian Cosmo reprinted UK shot with Olivia Palermo this month. It's clean, soft and yummy. :bunny:

it's the same old story, foreign editions of Cosmo do better Cosmo covers than Cosmo.
