I actually believe the color red was the original one, it's an outtake from a Victoria's secret party if I remember well, so the purple Australia version was altered in the first place. I personally think it's really stupid to do reprint right from the start, but if you do it and on top you're playing with paint to change the color of an outfit I'm like "What???"
