They just look odd. I don't really like them, but then again I can't say that I don't like them. I am very neutral with those.

i saw those at holts... in person they're pretty boring

they might not be so easy to wear indeed, but I think you needn't take those bad comments too seriously.

thanks for the comments ;) This is my first pair of white leather shoes. I always thinl it's too pretentious to put on white shoes.

True. I just have one thing to add. I think the quality of Costume shoes is not that goodr. They look good, but they fall apart pretty quickly, especially women's (men's not so much, but I'd still shop around for the kind of prices Costume charges these days). At least that has been my experience and experience of my friends.

Are you referring to recent experiences? Because starting from the S/S 2003 collection the production of the shoes have been moved to a new company (C.N. shoes) partly (60%) owned by E.C. SpA. (E.C. SpA is owned by the Capasa brothers (85%), and it’s the company that owns the Costume National brand)

And since then, I think, the quality of the footwear has improved significantly.

Not as recent. The latest (and probably my last) pair of Costume shoes was from S/S 02. They also raised the prices on their shoes significantly, hopefully the quality improved in line with the prices.

Compared to many other designer shoes in the same price range (I don’t know if prices are different in the US) the quality is actually good.

At least that’s my experience…

Well, all of a sudden Costume shoes are $400-450-500. I would rather buy Jil Sander,Dries Van Noten, Helmut Lang, Dirk Bikkimbergs, Dior for that money. That's just my opinion, of course :flower:

for your reference, the original price of the shoes are $450cad i.e. about 340usd. USD is so low these days, only 1usd = 1.32cad. Is the price reasonable ?

Well, that’s wise if you like their styling better… Quality-wise I think Costume National now is at least on par with the others, though I’ve heard that Dior have some problems with the quality of their footwear…

But all in all I think it depends of the specific model in question.

I’ve for instance had a really bad experience with a pair of Helmut Lang sneakers falling apart, though the quality of his shoes usually seems fine.

Unfortunately, these days it is a reasonable price. The prices are just crazy.

I completely agree and despite that Costume may have changed suppliers, their quality doesn't warrant such a high price. Very thin soles that are glued, not stitched. The leather isn't the best either. They had a few pairs at Barneys during clearance time marked down to $139 (none my size of course) but I just couldn't help but question the quality...very iffy IMO. I wouldn't spend more than $150.

I can't see them very well, enough to picture what they would look like on.

The colour and texture look interesting, but the style seems a bit boring.
