SPACE RACE: Tapping into fashion's flirtation with futurism, French catalogue giant La Redoute is to unveil a collection by Sixties pioneer André Courrèges for spring. Dubbed "Couture Future," the red-and-white capsule line includes swimwear, accessories and cotton basics such as a trapeze skirt and a sleeveless dress that evoke a contemporary take on Courrèges codes. Prices for the collection, to be released in early December, will range from about $40 to $200.

i read this in Le Monde recently, where they stated that the collection would be shown for the autumn/winter catalogue... i was wondering then why they would announce something for the current winter season in november, which seemed rather odd.....now i know better, thanks lena!

it's certainly a timely decision -with all the 'futuristic' looks we have seen on the runways....

just hope it does get too retro looking...

Yes! Select items are on the US site too, under their own category here. (The shoes are available only in white for US buyers at the moment; they're a wonderful shape, but I can rarely approach white patent shoes without caution...)

are we looking at the same collection??! This looks terrible. It looks like something from target (color scheme and all) i don't understand how this is 'futuristic'. It's a one piece red swimsuit with white trim. pretty basic to me.

It's rather... unappealing? I can see some Courrèges inspiration there, but done very badly.

the jacket on look No 1 is totally Courreges ... Its a bit too sporty for my taste, tho ...

This looks like Nike workout gear and the bathing suit looks like a Speedo. Disappointing.
