Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs are never timid in the overt sexiness of their Cushnie et Ochs collections. But this season their slits were often too high, the plunges too deep and the bra bodices too open. (And why were some of the looks topped with cowboy hats?)

Va-va-va-voom has become the designers’ niche but it was their less-conspicuous looks that were best here: a terrific silk bowed shirt and below-the-knee, high-waisted pencil skirt, as well as a chic double-breasted jacket with a swingy silk skirt. In this case, it looked like more was indeed more.
