thanks for the pics r0b0t :flower:

They're certainly not groundbreaking, but I love Steffe's designs--wearable, well-made and quite economical when they show up at Loehmann's and Marshall's. I got a gorgeous ivory silk empire waist/slightly babydoll/swingy dress at Loehmann's for a steal. It will be nice and grungy with boots. Very prim and girly designs, quite classic and non-quirky. You have to accessorize them up a bit.

It's also surprising that my *** fits in them and Steffe magnaminously sizes said *** a 6. I can't squeeze into a 8 or even a 10 when it comes to similarly priced lines Marc/Marc Jacobs and L.A.M.B. I'm guessing the models in these pictures must be wearing a Steffe size -4. Negative four sizes below zero, or they've pintucked and tailored them all especially.

It's funny how so many designers seem to be stuck with the boho-fashion. I think this looks like a Topshop collection...

^Seems more reminiscent of classic American sportswear a la Claire McCardell than anything hippieish or boho to me. If the designs are derivative, it's pointing more toward stuff like Bonnie Cashin, Anne Klein, etcetera, rather than the haute couture of Europe. The line is carried in places like Macys and Nordstrom--I'm not sure if that coincides with the Topshop vibe-- indeed, she's not cutting edge like Galliano or Kawakubo. But you don't see that at Macys, either. I dig the fat-rumped American hausfrau vibe: I aspire.
