The styling in those years (and in this type of magazines) isn't as good as I remember it.. it's making me question this entire time in fashion lol.
Seeing the names of some of the promising talents at the time (Ann Sofie Back, Emma Cook) and knowing what became of them (not much? all after the 2008 recession) makes me a bit sad.. I really believe a whole generation lost its chance to see their experiences and thoughts expressed creatively through new sartorial codes they might have been able to design.. which an old house (the only chance of success and employment for a good majority now) will never be able to achieve just because the codes they work under were created for the youth in 1956,1972, who even knows.
Thanks for covering the vintage content of these more adventurous magazines, Benn! still holding a candle that someone will be able to find Dazed's September 1998 issue.
