Woah... Dan always does the very fashion forward shoots. I kinda like that about him. It always seems like he's unafraid to do whatever a photographer wishes.
Saying that though, the cover is sort of odd.
I got the sense from Dan's interviews and projects that he had to be into indie/cutting edge things in a 'trying too hard' way, but I think these photos are a bit more relaxed and genuine... oddly enough. I mean, I expected to cringe when I saw the thread title but the creative team behind the photos managed to make it all work (and I'm glad).
I was trying to assimilate for this a few months ago when I posted about upcoming Dazed cover subjects in the cover rumour thread, but never managed to overcome my discontent. Even now seeing the result...
I love it! Potterologists of the world unite
Now, let's see if Shulman does the right thing and give Emma Watson her much awaited debut Vogue cover
I do love anything Harry Potter and Daniel Radcliffe related however that said.... the covers a bit... odd. It almost seems as if they tried to hard to make it indie thus making it instead just plain weird.
I admire his willingness to experiment with his image more than I ever do the results.
He was looking mighty fine in his stubble and sideburns on the set of The Woman In Black, I'll give him that.
woah, very interesting! I like it
when i first saw Daniel in the thread title, i was like.. eerr.. okay.
But it turned to be wonderful and.. scary at the same time.. hahaha
When I saw the cover, I was like "There's no way that's Dan!" And then I saw the second photo with him in the chair and I recognized him, but the first photo is really odd. I'd like to see this issue!
Wow! It looks amazing! Very artsy, very creative and very Daniel Radcliffe. He's such a big ball of creative, curious energy, but he's also an old soul. I really love that about him. I can't wait to see the rest of the ed.
The picture above kind of reminds of Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter.
Wow this is going to be awesome!!!
Ooooh, this is super cool... anyone else getting a Heart of Darkness/Kanye West "Power" feel?
^Yeah! I totally see that too. It's also similar to the Details ed Daniel did a couple years back:
Both are very weird and creative, but in a good way. It's like something out of a Terry Gilliam film.
is it weird that i really love the cover? he isnt recognizable at all but thats what i love about it!
This looks really great. I love that Dan is not afraid to do these kind of things (just like James Franco for Sugar) instead of always being the brooding type of guy.
And the pic of him sitting in the chair with the hat, he looks like the Mad Hatter.
Not exactly awake yet. With the jacket.
weeiiird cover!! really.
