first thanks to susie for all the scanning and posting...

but i have to say that i get very sad when i see pictures like this...
nothing speaks to me...
nothing calls to me or even whispers...
these pictures are not about fashion...
not the way i think of fashion...

*about romance and beauty and dreams and fantasies...
larger than life....
lifting you up and bringing you to your knees all in one gesture...

i miss that in fashion too often these days...

^Yes I suppose I do agree with you to some extent.

But at the same time, I don't mind when fashion photography starts to challenge the spectator. They aren't seeking to depict fashion ideals/fantasies but trying to subvert a garment or at least subert the way we think about that designer/piece.

In any case, I don't feel as though the romance is all lost! I see many editorials that evoke what you described! I'm grateful for both tbh.
