yes, the styling saves her editorial... at least there's that.
OUT OF THE BLUE.
models: adrienne jüliger (viva) and lucy evans (select)
photographer: pierre debusschere (artandcommerce)
stylist: katie shillingford (intrepid)
hair: alex brownsell (dandv)
make-up: isamaya ffrench (streeters)
So that's what Pierre's work looks like without his bag of tricks? Meh. Katie's awesome styling is doing all the heavy lifting.
Kendall's editorial looks good but I am laughing at the fact that they had to pick the worst two images for her covers.
She is changing the face of fashion by not changing her face in any picture at all.
I can't believe dazed did this.
loving this concept
model: kat hessen
photographer: brianna capozzi
stylist: emma wyman
hair: yukiko tajima
make-up: kumiko hirose
^The concept is awesome.
As for the Kendall spread, the styling is superb and there's no denying that she looks great. However with the exception of maybe two shots, she still isn't captivating enough or executing enough emotion. I think she did a better job in the Vogue spread, which is saying a lot because I found that boring.
i'm sorry but ...
i LOVE Kendall's editorial. I think she is a BEAUTY in it - I do think she is better in this than Vogue US !!!
And I agree with tigerrouge who said something about being here in DC first, and then move to Vogue would make more sense= preach - and then there're stories about her being the bully of some other girls. i bet...
The Rocha shot made me think: "damn gorgeous mouth!" ...
~ not everything is perfect, but she is very good in most pictures !
and i think they understood she needs to use her hands (so perfect prop and access styling), and therefore needs to learn how to use her arms+hands pretty quickly ! in the vogue us spread i was shocked by this absence of "form" in the arms, and also her weird-stare-into-the-camera ...
the styling and photography of course are beyond perfection ...
she is perfect in the Dior look, with long hair ! (a bag and the spoon is too much, i would have keep the spoon only, gorgeous with the shoes and socks).
i LOVE all the shoes ! perfect edit on the shoes !
love the long hair ! not too keen on the short wig.
damn the last shot is a rock star ... 90210 missouri meets Cher, much ?! red + black + white = classic, but it's a big bandana, some latex-leather-ish vest, and huge platform shoes... + denim + "chinese-farm-ish" hat. euh PERFECT !
i do love photography and styling, too.
love all the play with the threads, and franges, and stuff.
i really think this is dope here !
oh and i had to check who was these outfits by, and they are from CSM 2014 Graduate show by asai andrew ta. you can see more here.
i feel the shopping is very british, isn't it ?
i like the flatness of certain photos/looks/outfits.
like a lot the hair and make-up.
the power of great photography and styling. DC did Kendall wonders. strip all of that away however, and you have a weak model. Even with the great additives in that editorial, i still dont find anything shes in memorable
As a Kendall fan, I'm loving this thread. Even the people that don't like her invest the time and energy to take time out of their lives and check on what she is doing, form an opinion, and talk about it. Funny.......when I see a model I don't like, I tend to be indifferent to her. This is why Kendall will always book. Those that love her will flock to her, and those that don't flock just a quickly.
It goes without saying, I think the edit is gorgeous, by far her best work. I look forward to seeing her grow and develop.
Kendall is without a doubt a beautiful girl, onedimensional though.
I fint her ed quite blank and lazy, like the one in Vogue. The styling and the hair, haves it. The short wig brings an edge in her.
Kendall sure needs to teach me how to have the exact same expression in every single picture. She's perfect for art/drawing classes!
Thank you! I like her editorial but she's blatantly being carried by Ben and Robbie here. Like you, I too wonder what'll happen next time when she'll actually be required to contribute more to a story then just her physical presence? She cant be expected to only work with expert photographers and stylists. That is how you seperate the sheep from the goats!
At the moment Kendall is infiltrating every nook and cranny of the industry. It's impossible to ignore her, or to not have an opinion about her. I'm anxious to see how long this little charade of hers will last though.
Oh give me a break. Oh poor thing, wants to be a model, has no talent for that and instead of searching her true calling, makes videos so everyone feels sorry for her. Give me a freaking break!
Wants to be a model? In case you missed it, she walking blue chip shows, is being endorsed by the heaviest of the heavy hitters, has already lined up major campaigns this season.....along side one of the most prestigious contracts any model could ever get. The "wants" to be a model ship has LONG sailed.
that video did make me laugh this actually looks an ok issue
The video reminded me of Gisele's Under Armour Women I will what I want video with opinions (good and bad) being projected on the walls:
so it feels like deja vu from that point of view.
