I finally got round to looking at this properly, and seeing as there was no thread here I thought I'd post it. I didn't take it seriously at the time as it wasn't officially a collection designed by Lutz Huelle, but looking at the collection now I can see how much this is his work. Makes me kinda sad that it was over before it began properly. I wonder what happened?

Vogue Runway

I kind of like Josep Font’s approach during his tenure in Delpozo. His structural and juvenile aesthetic always had the kind of youthful elegance and sophistication. Neither in the sense of innovative nor creative, I would take Font over MGC at the helm of Dior any other day as I feel that Font had been able to capture the spirit of Dior Mademoiselle much better.

From the business point of view, I always thought Delpozo’s aesthetic appealed to a certain group of customers. At the same time, I am not surprised that the brand has to change hands since which might not be very profitable since its revival. I always have a soft spot for Alaia’s business model, but this not the case with Delpozo.

Lutz is very talented and it’s a pity that the house is in a weird situation. This collection works for Delpozo but it can also work for so many brands...Rochas, Nina Ricci...Even Sonia Rykiel (they have a new owner). With the right price point, proper marketing and PR (those are brands that still needs the exposure of celebrities), he can do wonders anywhere!
He can even channel the spirit of this and do it for his own line, I would be totally happy about it! He is a real talent!

I agree. And while this ^ is a little too girly for me it looked like a good direction for Delpozo, changing towards something more wearable without a complete revolution.
I still like his more rough style for his own collection, but I agree he could do a number of houses, and for me he would be perfect at Hermes.

Oh yes! He could be great for Hermès! His clothes feels special and I believe Hermès RTW should be special. I would buy his RTW at Hermès, for sure!

I agree, Hermès should be classic and timeless but also special , with a real identity. I might be wrong here but I think Lutz could really pull this off.

This was posted on Lutz Huelle’s Instagram yesterday . It makes me a little sad for what could have been

^That collection could have been really, REALLY good! The posted looks are fantastic and they actually make me dream of Lutz at Balenciaga. They give me an impression of them being special yet wearable and there's the couture vibe going on. This situation is sad, because they chose the worst timing for his appointment and wasted an incredible chance.

Is this the only time something like this has happened, over before it began? Such wasted potential.

such a beautiful bow-out....

makes me wonder why clothes like this collection wont sell, yet Mary`s Dior is selling like hotcakes? what are the customers thinking?

I wonder if it would have sold if they had been able to bring the collection out.
I could have been a customer but the main obstacle has always been the pricing. For these prices I'd rather shop at Chanel

Hows the quality from delpozo compared to chanel?
If its not anything on par or better then it would be a positioning problem. hope the house can be sold to a good buyer that will revive it properly, failing which, josef font and lutz halle should at least continue to work...

I would assume the quality is very good at Delpozo, they always called themselves 'Pret-a-couture'. But other houses have great quality too, it's a question of the standing of a brand, for me for the kind of money it costs Chanel has more 'Brand Value'
