on a different note...sorry i have been such a butt about posting pics of my derek lam clutch. i have been lazy but here they are finally. i seriously love this bag and i carry it once a week whenever i go out at the night. the leather is super duper durable and the inside is really soft; really nice suede. as you can see in the pics, the clutch can sit on it's bottom with no problems which is great when i want my bag close to me on the table. alternatively, i can always hang the bag on a chair by pulling out the chain. i know i know, it's a heavy bag, but for the clutch the weight is perfect. i strongly recommend this clutch to anyone looking for that perfect day-to-evening that you can use everywhere clutch. NAP has the black one (i think it's still there) and Barney's had them at some point (I got a call some time in September).

I do not have one yet, but should do so for next season I hope. I heard they are making them MUCH lighter in the coming Spring/Summer season and so that's great. I think I'll get a Hildegarde just as i'd previously ordered, not sure which colour though.

They are such, such gorgeous bags. Seeing that black one on the vogue girl is making me lightheaded!

oh great to know! That was one of my big worries about getting one of his bags now, I figured they'd find a way to improve the weight issue and I'd be stuck with a heavy one.

If anyone does want one of the fall ones though there are plenty sitting on the shelf at Barneys in Boston. They don't seem to go anywhere.

look how great this bag looks worn messenger style! I haven't seen any other candids of anyone wearing it this way. It makes the plain hobo style more exciting. I like it like this more, perhaps because I've become sucker for messenger bags lately.

well, i have been following all the handbag threads for a very long time, but this is my first post on the fashion spot!!

so i saw a black hildegard at a party the other day, and i think i might be obsessed with this bag now. the leather was so gorgeous and but the design is still very classic looking.

i have not seen any of the other colors on this bag-- do you all think it's too boring to get the black one? or should i go for the oxblood if i can find it somewhere?

i need help-- this will probably be the christmas present i hint for with my mom! which is all good, except i wouldn't want to get the wrong color and exchange it, which is so rude!

personally I think the oxblood is most beautiful and different, but this based only on pictures as barneys didn't buy that color so I've never seen it.

I don't think Black is too boring in this bag at all. To me the black looks classic and elegant, it goes with everything. I think the hardwear keeps it from ever looking dull.

I am also starting to get obsessed with this bag. The more I see it the more I want it. The new white S/S color is featured in the new Marie Claire, it looks gorgeous. Anyone know what other colors are up for S/S?

another question i have is does anyone know if the strap is on the hildegard? how can this celeb wear it on her back as well as on the side?

i'm sooooooooo excited! i feel like i get light headed when i daydream about this bag!! i am going to ask my mom for the bag starting after thanksgiving! however now i'm not sure i can wait until christmas for this bag. it is such a loooooooong time to waaaaaait.

I tried on the Hildegaurd at Barneys today and I have to say that the Derek Lam hardware is the most beautiful hardware I've seen on a bag. EVER. Its intricate and gorgeous.

That said the Hildegaurd is too small for me. I need something bigger. I saw a woman with the a green Persephone in Bergdorfs and it was PERFECTION. I think it may have been the same woman from the Sartorialist photograph. I was planning to ask her where she got her back but she was engaged in a cell phone conversation and I thought it rude to interupt. I absolutely must have this bag if I can find it anywhere. I may have missed the boat though

luxx - i totally agree that the hardware is absolutely gorgeous. i always stare at the ram heads when i use my clutch. i don't think you have missed the boat, especially if they are going to continue the line into resort and spring....
